Chaos Daemons - Greater Daemon of Nurgle - Great Unclean One #2

Hello Readers, thanks for dropping by, this is scheduled as I am away. I have another great offering to the Chaos Gods, a disgusting and resilient one, an embodiment of Papa Nurgle itself - a second Great Unclean One.
This was an eBay purchase which I have added some washes too and some details, plus redoing the base to match my own bases. The use of the Rotigus tentacles arm was a nice touch to make it look different from the flail armed GUO.
I added Agrax to the lower half of the miniature and a lot of sand and gravel to the base before repainting it. I also added some green wash to the folds of skin to get it similar to the current GUO and Scabeiathrax FW resin GUO I already have.
The previous owner did a nice subtle conversion to add the large Plague Sword as well as the Plague Dagger.
I really enjoyed this process, and have a Rotigus kit yet to do. I may attempt that following the same process as my first GUO, and changing the washes slightly for a different finish.

Cheers, Siph

Chaos Daemons - Daemons of Nurgle - Nurglings

Hello Readers, thanks for dropping by. I am deployed again so have a few scheduled posts to keep you entertained and the blog ticking over. I have a few more reinforcements to Nurgle on the heels of the Great Unclean One, some characterful Nurglings.
These are great objective holders and resilient but I like their playful cartoon like appearance.
I have a rather nuted palette on these ones compared to the previous three bases, seen here
These are stock miniatures straight from the pack, no additions like the previous lot with added extra Nurglings.
A random green skinned one breaks up the same palette and a few goo puddles have been added to the bases.
Here they are added to the previous Nurglings, similar but different enough to differentiate if needed.

Chaos Daemons - Greater Daemon of Nurgle - Great Unclean One

Hello Readers, thanks for dropping by, this is scheduled as I am away. I have a great offering to the Chaos Gods, a disgusting and resilient one, an embodiment of Papa Nurgle itself - a Great Unclean One.
I used the You Tube WarhammerTV painting tutorial by Duncan Rhodes in his GW days, its a great tutorial and step-by-step which made it real easy to finish.
The Great Unclean One has a couple of attendants, a Nurgling chillin' on a rock at the front.
And a Flail wielding Nurgling at the rear.
I really enjoyed the warts and all, lol. The rips and tears to the skin were particularly gross and I finished with a slight gross Nurgle's Rot finish.
I really enjoyed this process, and have a Rotigus kit yet to do. I may attempt that following the same process, just changing the washes slightly for a different finish.

I really enjoyed the guts, bright pink innards, following the tutorial, screamer pink and pink horror with a Kislev Flesh finish.
Adorable
The flail was also fun, I enjoyed the smoke trails, using Terradon Turquoise as a wash. Thanks for dropping by.

Daemon Princess or monument?

Hello All!

Thanks for stopping by!

As you might remember, a while ago I started work on a conversion using the momument from the Battle Sanctum, and parts from an old Daemon Prince, and the orginal Lord Of Change.

I added the right leg to from the LoC to replace the human foot, I had to green stuff the claws so that it looked correct. The face of the Sister was cut away from the hair, and then a daemon head was cut to fit. The final addition was a right Daemon Prince arm.

The paint scheme was designed to look like a monument, however with a twist that the daemon element is alive. I opted for a Zandri dust base highlighted up, then washed with Agrax. I then added washes of Drakenhof Nightshade wash over the daemon parts, highlighted with white, and then Hexwraith technical paint to add a different hue to the model, this was repeated on the flames and candles to add to the otherworldly feel of the model. I then added red to the eyes to highlight the fact the momument is alive.

Some images with some poor Guardsmen.

I am really happy with the way this model looks, and that the conversion was worth all the effort to cut the face away initialy! LH (10pts character or 5pts Scenery?)

Chaos Daemons - Seekers of Slaanesh

Hi All, Happy New Year! - thanks for dropping by. I finally painted a squad of my own Seekers of Slaanesh, my first squad was painted by my good blogger pal Nick at The Burning Eye blog. A great set and well done. Seen HERE
Once the Contrast Paints were released they looked great on organics so I decided to paint some Daemons, I wrote a painting guide for Daemonettes HERE if you want to check it out.
The bases were my usual recipe. Mournfang Brown, Kommando Khaki and Ushabti Bone

The Seeker Mount was a simple job of two thin coats of Magus Flesh Contrast, one all over and a second partial coat on the upper surface. So simple, so effective.
Really happy with these, and didn't take too long.

Chaos Daemons - Plague Hulk of Nurgle

Hello All, thanks for dropping by, hopefully Nurgle hasn't blessed your house and you are safe and well. I bought this rather disgusting Plague Hulk second hand and have had fun bringing the nurgle disease ridden corpse flesh back to 'life' and touching up the guts, blood, pustules and warts etc.
My main go to paints other than Deathguard Green and Nurgling Green have been the technical Blood for the Blood God and Nurgles Rot, both applied after the flesh work and a layer of matt varnish, that way I can preserve the shine and gloss look to both.
The metals received a lot of weathering and washes and a few inks like my old trusty Chestnut Ink.
I love the disgustingness of Nurgle Daemons, I have another two Greater Unclean Ones to do, that way the FW one I have will be a Scabeiathrax the Bloated, also known as Papa G'aap, Lord of the Blighted Pit, Maggotspore, and the Wind of Nurgle, Scabeiathrax was most recently summoned into the mortal realm in by the Forces of Chaos infesting the world of Vraks Prime during the grinding military campaign recorded in Imperial databases as the Siege of Vraks wth the Death Korps of Kreig.

A rather large and cumbersome miniature to photograph but I think all the gross colours and pustules have come through...
I particularly like the weeping Nurgle's Rot from the Rot Cannon.

Chaos Daemons - Daemonettes of Slaanesh

Hello All, thanks for dropping by. The latest offering to the Dark Gods is a squad of Slaaneshi Daemonettes. I painted these using Contrast Paints and normal layer paints, and a tutorial can be found here Painting Daemonettes.
A rather striking mix of heady purples and bright shocking pinks, and a few golds - very excess, very Slaanesh.
Daemonettes are Slaanesh's Lesser Daemons and the most numerous of all his servants. Possessed of the hypnotic glamour for which all Daemons of Slaanesh are abhorred, they are vicious, merciless fighters who attack with astounding speed and grace - according to GW. Well on the battlefield they do have quite a punch, its just getting them into combat is the kicker - they melt under Bolter fire.
I've included an Instrument of Chaos and an Icon of Chaos so when mixed with my existing squad of 10 to make an indecent blob of 20 - they will get across the table and reap a nice tally. Well, that's the plan...

Chaos Daemons - Soul Grinder of Slaanesh

Hello All, thanks for dropping by, continuing my daemon offerings this year, today a Soul Grinder of Slaanesh, the alignment to Slaanesh gives the Quicksilver ability to fight first in CC, so with his high toughness and lethal close combat weapons he should be a threat to most.
I used contrast paints on the flesh, Magos Flesh and Shyish Purple for the darker purple weapon. The armour panels were Daemonette Hide and washed Magos Flesh finished with some old transfers from a CSM decal sheet.
The mechanical bits were basecoated Leadbelcher and washed Nuln Oil and some Agrax and the pistons picked out with Stormhost Silver and grimed with Chestnut Ink.
The Soul Grinder has a Harvester Cannon and a Mawcannon as well as the fearsome close combat abilities.
He looks angry...
A nice addition to the Daemons Incursion who needed some high toughness and some ranged firepower.
