Legio Astorum Warhound Titan "Canis Irae" No.4562 from Forge World - WIP

Welcome Titanseers and all, thanks for dropping by. After completing Canis Secondus another titan second hand sale caught my eye and as Warhound No. 4562 wasn't registered on Titan Owners Club, I was pleased to 'bring it into the family'.  Firstly I reconstructed the legs after trimming down the base from a large round to my characteristic smaller interlocking circles. I believe a base makes a strong and stable addition, making the legs and base a strong triangle to prevent splaying, or tipping over at Titan Walk events.
I repainted the shin guards and added the Titan's names to the scrollwork, "Canis Irae", or low gothic "Hound of Fury", befits a scout titan.
The previous owner had some cool airbrush work, so in my usual style I like to preserve something of the previous ownership to honour the Machine Spirit - so I re-did the trim and added the Legio Astorum star maps over the airbrush work, Legio Astorum use star maps to record the titan's history and previous campaigns.
Here you can see the addition I made to the base, with chain-link fence and a dragon's tooth tank trap under the toes. The Titan will be attached to the base via a large screw up through the base in the centre of the rubble and the base of the fence. The toes will be glued to the rubble and the screws laced with JB Weld for a strong bond. The leg joins were all drilled and pinned as I don't know what glue the previous owner had used, and I re-attached all the toes with JB Weld and pins. I also pinned the feet into the lower leg to prevent any breaks in the ball socket.
Here you can see the leg being glued to the hips, held in place with clamps whilst the JB Weld sets.
Drake-Seta at Battle Bunnies Blog supplied and designed another Banner for my Hounds. Thanks Mate!
I preserved some of the airbrush work on the carapace, halving the scheme with standard blue and Astorum decal on the opposite side. Yet to complete internals and main torso, but, the carapace armour has been done and the Plasma Blastgun completed and magnetised.
I have also completed the base and legs, loving the progress so far, a unique Warhound amongst my own six... now seven, which poses me with a problem - keep all seven or sell one to stay at 2x Squadron of 3? Nice problem to have...

Cheers, Princeps Seniores Siph

Legio Astorum Warhound Titan "Canis Secondus" No.4633 from Forge World - COMPLETED

Welcome Titanseers and all, thanks for dropping by, a second hand sale caught my eye and as it was already registered on Titan Owners Club, I had to 'keep it in the family'... besides a nice number of now six Mars Warhounds completed. A few touch ups were required and a repaint of the blues and golds to match my own, but the basics and metallics were done and dusted (literally on the feet) for me already.
I added a base as I believe they make a strong and stable addition, making the legs and base a strong triangle to prevent splaying, or tipping over at Titan Walk events. The underside has teflon coasters for ease of movement too. The original owner had red/orange plasma so I had to re-paint the Plasma Blastgun to match my own numerous Titans. I added verdigris to the weapons to match other titans too. All the detailing was touched up or painted to match other titans too, like the screens and buttons on the rear of the weaponry.
Here Canis Secondus is with the additional weapons, Turbolaser Destructor and Inferno Gun. In an Ignis Maniple the Inferno Gun becomes potent (using AT28mm rules) but the former combo of Plasma Blastgun and Vulcan Mega Bolter is my favourite for Warhounds - shield stripping and high strength damage capability to even worry Warlord Titans.
The insides were already painted for me, I just re-painted the Princeps jacket to a purple like most of my other Princeps, did a few details and gold aquila, purity seals and painted the lumin-strips on the deckhead inside. The sensors and screens of the Command Deck were also painted.
The Astorum livery was already done so that saved some hard-to-source decals, but I gave both sides a tidy up and smoothed the blacksun edges. All the trim was re-done with golds and Reikland Fleshshade like my other titans.
The feet were weathered so when I sealed the 'factory fresh' look I go for with a clear spray lacquer, I avoided the bottom half of the titan and used a matt varnish spray on the lower half.
The scrollwork now denotes the titan's name "Canis Secondus", sister engine to "Canis Praetor" which fits nicely.
The base was adorned with ruins taken off the original base of the recent Warbringer Nemesis "Mons Vesuvius", of which I have plenty more to use, so plenty of opportunities for more basing material yet to come which is nice and makes the bases more visually interesting.
And Drake-Seta at Battle Bunnies Blog was kind enough to design more banners, adding the name in Low Gothic "Canis Secondus" with kill markings below and heraldic script detailing the exploits.
And for ease of travel, the titan was well magnetised by the previous owner with strong magnets in arms and waist, and saw battle at the recent Titan Walk at Salute52 in London 12 Apr 25.

Cheers, Princeps Siph (25pts - half for re-painted efforts)

Warlord Psi-Titan - Polaris-Albedelach of the Ordo Sinister - Done!

Hello one and all,

This offering to the hivemind is something a little different, a completed Forgeworld Warlord Titan, however the Emperor has blessed this Titan, and has upgraded it to a Psi-Titan! For this, I have 3D printed the Psi parts, and different armour plates to make this Titan stand out. I have also added LED's to add to the overall look of the Psi-Titan.
The Psi-Titan is also stood a 3D printed Warmaster Titan carapace, which was painted in a Mortis scheme.
The plates have been painted with colour-shift paint from GreenStuffWorld, these shift from Purple to Green. The endoskeleton of the Titan was based with Leadbelcher spray, and then a coat of a 'smoke' wash to add depth. The brass was painted up from a base gold, with washes and highlights to produce the Brass colour.
At Titan Owners Club Main Walk 2024
The Titan is armed with carapace Apocalypse missile Launchers, and then options for either a Conversion-Beamer or a Close Combat weapon - both 3D printed as Forge World lack offerings. The 'Pizza cutter; weapon also has a Vulcan Mega bolter as per the fist rules adapted for Titan Owners Club events (otherwise CC Titans die before doing anything constructive - which is not fun for Princeps!)
Really happy with the finish, the Titan will eventually get a a groin honours banner, as well as a couple of kill markers added from the last ToC Walk.

Thanks for stopping by! LH (75pts plus 10pts for extra weapon)

Legio Crucius - Reaver No.2 - WIP

Hello one and all!

Weemen should really be renamed titanmen for the number of titans on here! I've started the build on my second Reaver - name to be asigned soon!
The model has been washed and scrubbed, and then prepared for the build. I spent an evening cutting away all the flash, then the same evening to add all the various pins to help hold the model in place. The next phase is to add the magnets to the torso, and then to fix the joints to place. I am in two minds about the pose- whether to have her striding forward, or to have a fixed stance like my other Reaver.

More to come soon..

Stay Safe everyone LH

Legio Astorum Forge World Warlord Titan Build #18 - Legs Endo-skeleton Done

Hi Titan Engineseers, I made some progress, probably the first meaningful stage after completion of the Superstructure Build a while back (Feb 2016... too long I know TOC Col.H)... I wanted a base for my Warlord, all my Titans have bases, they make the Titans a lot more sturdy and strong as well stable (PM Mrs May "Strong and Stable") but also offer a great place to pick up and move a Titan without fear of rubbing paint off, breaking an arm etc. So here is how I did it. My last post #17 showed the base of 6mm MDF board I'd cut into a loose '8' shape.
I marked out where the Titans feet were, and marked the base at a suitable position where a screw could be driven up from beneath the base into the foot to secure it, supplementing the JB Plastic Weld epoxy glue. This had to be in an area on the sole of the Titan foot, but not where the construction pins were already in place from foot to shin.
I then marked a drill bit (3.5mm same as screw shaft thickness) down to a depth where it would not penetrate the upper portion of the foot plate. I then sourced some suitable screws.
I used a Forstner Bit to screw into the underside of the base enough room for the tapered end of the screw and a washer for strength.
I then test fitted suitable screws in place with washers attached to ensure the screw length would not penetrate the top of the foot plate.
I then marked the sole of the foot aligned to the base through the holes drilled in the base, and then drilled down to the required depth carefully.
I then took the base and scored gauges to allow the JB Weld to adhere to the base sufficiently and so the top layer would be penetrated to prevent the top laminate just peeling. This was then covered in tape to protect from overspray - a clean surface for the glue.
All being well, I started preparing the base with debris and sand, a flattened Imperial Knight Pauldron and a half buried-when-trodden-on spare Emplacement cannon. I also found some suitable FW resin vents left over which made great 'Tank Traps'.
I sprayed the base and did the drybrushing, then carefully glued and screwed the Titan to the base. The screws held the Titan in place so no clamps were needed, these clamps are holding down the flattened Pauldron until the glue dried. I then back filled some of the gap around the toes, this was two fold, helped the Titan blend into the base rather than 'on the base' and will also strengthen the join where the PVA adheres to both toe and base.
The edged sand was then painted to match, any bits that look linear can always be from the massive stresses of having a Titan footstep, in fact where the left leg is slightly raising at the rear, I kept the flattened (sand free) edges clear to give the impression of pounded to dust.
Here is the rear, with flattened Pauldron in Lord Halfpenny's Knight Household colours... and plenty of Gamers Grass tufts around the base and some of my traditional flock too.
A close up of the flattened Pauldron
A buried trodden on Emplacement Gun and debris
The resin vent offcuts Tank Traps and a shattered one under the toe - just some sprue and sand painted concrete colours.
And here the completed lower legs superstructure and base.
From the Rear
Some of the detailing, greased cogs, power cables, clean pneumatic cylinder pistons
Leg Pistons
Top down
From atop and rear. Ready for the massive task of up-armouring all the armoured plates. Finally the Titan begins to come together and alive.
