Warhammer 40K Objective Marker - Fallen Fire Claw Chapter Terminator

Hi Readers, Thanks for dropping in. I thought I'd share my latest battlefield objective marker for my massive Battle Company of Relictors Chapter. As you may know (WD281 - Andy Hoare and Graham McNeill), the RELICTORS were first founded in the Age of Apostasy originally designated the FIRE CLAWS and are believed to have been created from Ultramarines and Dark Angel gene-seed. A transcript of the Mythos Angelica Mortis suggests that the Fire Claws may have been one of the 20 or so Astartes Praeses Chapters formed to defend the Eye of Terror region of space. These included the Excoriators, Marines Exemplar, the Night Watch, the Subjugators, the White Consuls and the Relictors/Fire Claws and have served as part of the Imperium's defences against Chaos for nigh on five millennia.
Rightly so, my Relictors scour the battlefields of the 41st Millennia searching for Relics, Daemon Weapons to fight Chaos with and most reverent amongst these is fallen Fire Claw artefacts...
A throne wouldn't be sitting there on the battlefield, so I added some Cities of Death Ruins to make it believable as part of a ruined building this fine warrior was once defending.
As no canon scheme exists (to my knowledge) of the Fire Claws, (Tiger Claws and Fire Hawks yes, no Fire Claws) I made this scheme using Space Wolf claw transfer from the Dark Imperium transfer sheet and some flames (similar to LotD - Fire Hawks... maybe a link there?) to make this Space Hulk Blood Angel a Fire Claw fallen Terminator. Shaved off a lot of blood drops and Liquid Green Stuff'ed the iconography, left a single blood drop on a chain in his lap as a reminder of where he came from ;) Now my Relictors have something truly personal to fight for!

Hope you like it. My other Objective Markers are a Fuel Dump and an Ammo Dump. This particular one only took just over EIGHT years to surface out of the to-do pile!!

Cheers, Siph. (5pts for terrain, 10 for Character, so i'll settle for 5pts)

Space Hulk Blood Angels - Converting into Relictors Terminators

Hello Readers, I thought I'd kick off the new year with some more to-do pile work and as a few dedicated followers may recall (?) I did my first Space Hulk Terminator back in February 2011... well, enough time languishing in the to-do pile - these are seeing light of day once more!
To add to my ranks of Terminator Assault Squads, I love some Thunder Hammer and Storm Shield action, so the Sergeant of a new squad will be the TH SS Sergeant from Space Hulk - but with a suitable skull shaped Storm Shield made from the Arcane Ruins set. I've used these before as vehicle adornments on my Whirlwind Tanks - and their size is ideal as a Storm Shield.
The hand and handle was trimmed off of the existing Storm Shield which was discarded, I plan on adding a small Terminus Crux embellishment on the forehead to avoid too much of a chaos vibe.
Here are two other Space Hulk Blood Angels undergoing transformation into Relictors Terminators, both of a shooty variety, they will be joining a converted metal Chaplain who has become a mean looking skull faced Sergeant and a Cyclone Launcher marine with an old school targeter arm... should be completed soon.
The final Space Hulk mini I'm converting into a Relictor, or in this case a originator Fire Claw Terminator, the Chapter the Relictors were once before starting their penitent crusade... as no canon scheme exists I going for a black with fiery orange red gauntlets (Fire Claws!) and a Space Wolves chapter badge of a clawed paw... so far the base is complete. This will make a nice objective, I included the building as he wouldn't be slumped in a throne in the middle of a battlefield, so a ruined building serves well - now a relic to be fought over and reclaimed for the Chapter!

The Beginnings of a Genestealer Cult - Space Hulk Hybrids

Hobby Butterfly strikes again! I still have my copy of Space Hulk (2nd Edn circa 1996) inside the box I have the Genestealer and Deathwing (circa 1990) expansions too, extra rules, tiles and more importantly Miniatures. In this delightful plunge into the closet of doom - I retrieved the beginnings of a Cult... the 2nd Generation Hybrids from the Genestealer expansion. (I've also two copies of Space Hulk Circa 2009 - one yet to be unwrapped!)
Here are the first of my Genestealer Cult miniatures, they will be mixed in with the modern Hybrid models and armed with a mix of old and new weapons, here they have the original 'chaos' Heavy Weapons for taking on the Deathwing Librarians in the Space Hulk expansion, Chaos Conversion Beamers, Missile Launchers, Autocannon and some Ork Bolters and Bolt Pistols, Ork Plasma Gun, RTB01 Bolters and an Ork Chainsword...
Also with so much Space Hulk, I still had plenty of Purestrain Genestealers on the sprues still, so 5 of them (there are about 50 more if needed!) will also move across to the Cult.

Hmm, what Hive Fleet, well I love the simplicity of the Hive Fleet Kraken tutorial from Tale of Painters and the scheme will allow me to fit my old Imperial Guard Leman Russ Tanks and Squad from way back when I fancied painting something different. These will be incorporated with some Genestealer Cult frame bits icons, and head swaps and Knives, then I'll finally actually have a use for them on the battlefield, I never was going to build an entire Guard Army!

Goodbye grand ideas of a Vraks PDF, and hello insidious Cult... thank-you GW! Awesome!
So, for the cost of nothing so far, I have the start of the Hive Fleet Kraken Genestealer Cult - an insidious beacon for the approaching doom... don't expect rapid progress like Mordian7th, my hobby butterfly flutters around jobs to keep me interested!

Right, off to go write a GW Gift List and email my nearest and dearest...
