Relictors Space Marine Vanguard Biker Detachment

Hello All, (a bit of a filler post but no apologies, its a worthy sight) - after a successful Squaduary painting pledge of a Space Marine Bike Squad, I thought I would show off the entire Bike Vanguard contingent of my Relictors Battle Company. Now five full squads, Scout Bikes, Attack Bikes and some Characters.
The Attack Bikes can be found HERE. The Scout Bikes HERE and the Master of the Forge HERE
The Characters for the Biker contingent, Chaplain, Captain on a Jet Bike and a Librarian

Now, just need a battle to let them rip! Cheers, Siph.

Relictors Space Marine Captain on (Jet)Bike - Counts-as SM Bike

Hi, thanks for dropping in. My latest addition to the Relictors Space Marine Army is a counts-as Captain on a (Jet)Bike armed with twin Bolters, a Relic Blade and Storm Shield.  I will obviously run this FW Scimitar Jet bike as a normal SM Bike and the measurements are from the base so no real advantage, just looks cool-as!
I loved the FW style 30K Legion Jetbikes ever since they were released and had to get one for my Relictors, after all, they scour the battlefields for long lost relics... I thought a Captain would present the ideal opportunity to field one and besides - look how cool they look!
I used an old metal Storm Shield and a considerable power sword to act as the Relic Blade, carefully blending with Kantor Blue, Hawk Turquoise and Nuln Oil, highlighted with Temple Guard Blue, looks okay to me. The greys are my normal recipe of Dawnstone, Nuln Oil and Administratum Grey.
I converted the weapon mount from a Heavy Weapon with a Storm Bolter to represent better twin Bolters the normal SM Bikes are fitted with. I love the front 'maw' like grille of these bikes.
The studded shoulder Pauldron was a metal piece from Chapterhouse Studios I think and the winged helm was from the Dark Angel plastic Captain. I painted the wings to match the turquoise of the other bike squad Sergeant's bikes. I also swapped the rider torso for an elaborate Aquila chest Mk4 torso I had lurking in the bits box, I think from a Red Scorpion upgrade, replacing the scorpion motif with a tiny skull. The gold Pauldron was from the SM kits.
Here you can see the cockpit controls, he is actually holding the handlebars and I have fashioned a leather strap for the Storm Shield from half a plastic tube that comes with the paintbrushes. I topped the bike off with an icon from the Terminators kit and a Laurel to look Captain-like scrambled egg they have on their caps irl ;)
Here he is with the Bikes, as you can see the turquoise wing adornments fit in nicely. I rather enjoyed this one, I hope you like it and it gives you similar ideas. Cheers, Siph, (10pts for a Character, and a fine Bike one at that too)

Master of the Forge on Jet Bike Conversion

Hi One and All!

Thank you again for checking out our blog,

Up on show next is my, what counted as a Master of the Forge, now Techmarine on a Jet Bike (Counts as Bike), with under slung Conversion Beamer. This was a project I started about 5 years ago, with the idea before that! Siph did his version of a MotF Techmarine on bike after I had the idea for mine, so a while back indeed!

The Jetbike is the Sammael model, with the addition of a Techmarine body, and legs in place of Sammael. The under slung Plasma Cannon was then cut away, and replaced with a Forgeworld Contemptor Conversion Beamer - the arm perfectly sits within the void left by the plasma cannon. a portion of the Plasma Cannon is used to look like a vent from the Beamer.
The Techmarine tome on the front of the bike I decided to add script that looked like how a Conversion Beamer might work, to be honest is designed to look like an X-ray system which is what my degree in University is, Radiography!

The final picture is the MotF flying on the battle board. I do hope the rules in 8th include him so I can use him as I planned!
Thanks for looking, Cheers, Lord Halfpenny.

Edit, Following comments- pleasse see the close up of the book..

Ultramarine Master Of The Forge Jetbike WIP Progress

Hi one and all,

Just a  quick post updating my current WIP Master of the Forge on a Jetbike,

I've slowly painted the model, having opted for the more traditional 'red' for the techmarine instead of a blue/red combination, I've also gone for a blue jet bike, as I feel the look of the model would be too 'blood angels' if it was completed red!

I am also currently re-doing my power weapons to either bright red, or blue- thus the Master of the Forge's axe is red, with highlights using the new orange edge paint. The conversion beamer has been given a bright blue appearance, the hope is that this blue will be visible through the covering pieces.

The one area of the model I haven't really looked at yet is the base- whether to use the 'flying base' or to build an appropriate stand for it.. any suggestions would be appreciated!

 thanks for looking..

WIP Master of the Forge on Jet Bike

Hi all!

Just a quick post to show you the current status of my Master of the Forge on a Jet Bike, with an under slung Conversion Beamer! Siph loves this conversion - his on a 'normal' bike was found here.
I've only just started applying paint, thus is only the first few coats - details and highlights will be added in due course.
I've opted for the normal 'Red' for the Master of the Forge Techmarine's armour, with the jet bike retaining the Ultramarine blue for the chapter colours, with the eagle Aquila and 'wings' being white, and hopefully once finished will have a slight 'blue' wash colour to them in the recesses.
Thanks for looking, comments welcome!

Lord Halfpenny's WIP Forge World Stuff

Hi!

Recently I've been pretty busy building up several of my Forge World kits, and I thought I'd share some of the WIP.

Spartan

Firstly, the Spartan Landraider- this kit is huge, and was pretty straightforward to put together. I'm planning on making a few additions over the next weeks before painting
Typhon

Second up is the mighty Typhon tank- this was a little harder to build, the tracks were extremely warped, thus I ended up having to remove a track link to fit them into position.
Deimos Predators
I've built up two Deimos Predators, with the various main weapons pinned to allow me to swap them as required.

Fellblade Superheavy

The mightiest of my new Space Marine tanks - this tank is a beast - I love the feel and look of the tank, it feels and looks right.  I had planned on building a Fellblade using the Baneblade tank, however I'm glad FW saved me the hassle of building one!

Scimitar Jet Bikes

I've built 4 of the HH Scimitar jet bikes, which will count as either attack bikes/land speeders in 40k. I've added different heads/arms to the drivers, and converted one to have a Blood Angel wrist bolt pistol.

StormEagle

I built this a while ago and I am now painting the flyer. I've armed it with both the lascannons and meltas, so once it drops of the troop cargo - it will become a flying tank hunter.

Caestus Assault Ram
I've had this a while, and it has been used in battles previously, however I am only just getting round to painting it!

WIP- Techmarine Master of the Forge Jet Bike

A quick Work in Progress post,

I have been working on a project for some time now for my marines, a project which was 'in my head' for some years..

I love the master of the ravenwing jetbike, and really wanted to include something similar with my marines- more for the look of the model than the rules set.. I decided to go for a master of the forge on the jet bike- in keeping with the fluff for the forge master. I had bought a jet bike some years ago, however I never got the project going due to being metal, and the thought of cutting into it to convert filled me with dread- then finecast arrived!

Siph bought me the Jetbike for my birthday last year, I had already planned and purchased the 'weapon of choice' from forgeworld- a conversion beamer.

The Jet Bike
The jet bike was converted, with the plasma cannon cut away, and the conversion beamer from a contemptor used in its place- I used half the arm joint to act as the weapon brace. The end of the plasma cannon was attached to the back portion to give the appearance of the vents from the conversion beamer.
The Rider

The Master of the Ravenwing had his legs chopped from just above the knee, and replaced with the legs from a techmarine with a servo harness. The said model's torso was then used as the body of the rider. The left 'axe' arm was used- both to show his rank, but also it looks pretty sweet the way he is holding aloft- even though he is flying around at speed. The right arm with the bolter, had the bolter cut away, the wrist was then glued to the right hand on the handle bars. There is tubing from the wrist that was glued to the handle bars also.
The back of the rider had several 'wires' and 'tubes' attached, again in keeping with the look of a techmarine.
I'm really pleased with the final look of the conversion- I plan to have two bases for the  model- the first a 'flying base' the second a dynamic base that's angled for storage in my cabinet.

I hope you like- time to paint him!
