Mechanicum - Magos Dominus

Hello All, thanks for dropping by. My growing Mechanicum Taghmata have a new HQ choice, a Magos Dominus from Forge World, now OOP, but can be a Techpriest, Magos or ArchMagos.
It is armed with a Rad Cleanser heavy weapon and a huge heavy Servo-Arm and his fragile body is carried upon an Abeyant
I chose to keep the cloth blue to match the Myrmidons I already have, but the carapace/head cowling thing was painted in Mars colours to show it's allegiance to Mars, under which it stows many Servo Skulls.
I love this Geiger-esque silhouette, reminds me of Aliens Xenomorphs.

Mechanicum - Ursarax Tech Thralls #2

Hello Readers, thanks for dropping by. GW says "Ursarax tech-thralls are formidable, even monstrous, killing engines. Like the Thallaxii from which they were derived, these war-cyborgs are converted from suitable human candidates, their living components retaining a dim, tortured consciousness that provides them with superior tactical abilities and the instincts to kill. Jetting into close combat, the Ursaraxii tear apart steel and flesh alike, seeking the temporary relief of the automated neural anaesthesia that is administered for fulfilling their orders."
This is the second squad of these I have, the first painted in 2017 so these were painted to match, updating the former squad groin, thigh armour plates which I had missed. Plus jump pack vent exhausts and turbine glow.
The nice Volkite Incinerator built in the chest was picked out with a fiery orange glow
These all have Lightning Claws and pair up nicely with the first three armed with Power Fists and a Claw. Six in a squad will be a lot more survivable now and form a nice fast attack choice.

Mechanicum - Mrymidon Destructors w/ Irradiation Engines

Hello Tech Adepts, thanks for dropping by. The latest addition to the Mechanicum Taghmata is a squad of Mrymidon Destructors, the heavy infantry, each a Tech Magos fully adapted for war.
The Myrmidon Destructors are priests of the Mechanicum who specialise in the art of destruction with ranged weaponry and the embodiment of this within their own vastly augmented bodies.
These are all armed with Irradiation Engines, a 'torrent' flamer template radiation weapon which auto hits and wounds on 2+, and reduces target toughness by 1 due to the heavy doses of radiation.

These again were re-painted from Malinax Forge World force I bought from a mate, and re-branded Mars loyalist Mechanicum!

These are akin to the Mechanicum version of Terminators, strong armour, fairly slow and dish out short range punishment. I think i'll either need more or a transport for them. Just so happens I have a Macrocarid Explorator somewhere in the to-do pile...

Mechanicum - Vultarax Stratos Automata

Welcome Engineseers and Readers All, thanks for dropping by. The newest addition to my growing Mechanicum Taghmata 30K forces is a non-plague drone, a Vultarax Stratos Automata. The origins of the Nurgle Plague Drones are clear to see. A marvelous reverse engineering by the Forge World designers to give us the original non-corrupt drone.
The most common form of stratos-automata in widespread use by the Mechanicum Taghmata, the Vultarax is a robust, multi-role war engine drawn from ancient pre-Imperial STC designs. Heavily armed, fitted with sophisticated sensory gear, and able to operate in diverse and hostile environments, it serves as a keystone of Explorator expeditionary forces – both as an armed, high-mobility scout, and as a rapid response unit in open battle.
This was bought second hand from a Titan Owners Club mate Luke who had an extensive Malinax Mechanicum force which I am slowly re-dedicating back to the Golden Throne and true Omnissiah! But I felt the original creams of the scheme could be preserved in an insect like striped pattern.
I added a few details and recoloured some lenses and cables to suit my own forces but the heavy work had been done by Luke.
I also weathered the decals I added to match somewhat the worn and dirty panels of cream. I think the reds were later applied or fare better in the weather of whichever planet these operate on, hence the less weathered reds.
So insect like, so Plague drone-y...
Thanks for dropping in. A nice addition to the Mechanicum Taghmata.

Mechanicum - Thanatar Cavas Siege-Automata

Happy New Year!

Hello Tech-Adepts, welcome back. This week I have another Mechanicum offering for 30K, which I must get around to play at some point. This was repainted from a Moriax scheme but I preserved the chequered shoulderpad as it looked great and I like to preserve something from the previous owner's hard work.
I added and weathered a decal to the chequers to match the previous two Thanatar Mechanicum symbol placement.  The lovely shoulder mounted Plasma-Mortar was already painted so that stayed too, as it matched the previous two. Thanatar Cavas are also armed with twin Mauler Bolt Cannons too.
I satin varnished the Automaton, giving a slight sheen which suits the big robots quite well, so I went back and repainted the previous two Thanatar torso's red and also Satin varnished them too.
The fearsome Hellex Plasma-Mortar. Big Boom.
Awesome fire support Automaton big robots of doom for the slowly growing Taghmata Omnissiah, first ones purchased in 2015, a decade ago...

Mechanicum - Castellax Battle-Automata w/ Darkfire Cannons

Hello readers, thanks for dropping by. I purchased a fair quantity of Malinax Mechanicum from a mate and have been re-purposing them back to the Emperor's light in Mars colours. The three Castellax Battle-Automata here are armed with the fearsome Darkfire cannon.

The first one I preserved the shoulder art and the torso beige colours from the previous scheme and re-painted the rest Mars red and added decals. The green accent colour is common along the rest of my existing force, painted back in 2016.
The next has some nice triangle accents so I added the same to my previous Castellax which were too uniform red. That way these would also fit in better.
The third Castellax I painted both pauldrons red to match my existing force more closely and added some triangle art to the leg greave to personalise the machine and blend better as a group, little touches of individualism from the tech thralls or Datasmiths which operate these Automata.
Below is the group shot of all eight Castellax so far, I may add some more new plastic Castellax.
Next up I have some more Scyllax Guardian-Automata, Ursarax Shock Troops, another Thallax Siege-Automata, some Myrmidon Destructors, a few Thallax, a Vulturax Stratos-Automaton and a huge Ordinatus Ulator with a Belicosa Volcano Cannon!

Have a great Christmas and hopefully some more hobby goodness!

Mechanicum - Vorax Battle-Automata - Squad #2

Hi all, thanks for dropping by. I had the opportunity to purchase some Malinax aligned Mechanicum units from my mate when he was downsizing to make room for more Titans, so I set about changing their allegiance to loyalist Mars aligned Mechanicum. These will sit nicely next to my previous Vorax Battle-Automata purchased from Mordian7th in 2015 (HERE). I also had made and painted a set of these for blogger buddy Zzzzz too, Legio Astorum Vassal aligned (HERE).
I re-painted the power blades to match the first set. Re-painted the thorax and shins and waist segment to show Mars alignment and added some green to match my other Mechanicum robots.
I added green cables and some Ad-Mech crenulation decoration to match the first squad (also now have green cables - not blue as first arrived).
These are great hunter-killer predatory robots, power blades, Rotor Cannons and Lightning Guns
One has a Irad Cleanser on top
Love these gribblies
