Relictors Space Marine Chapter - Castraferrum Dreadnought #9

Hello Readers, thanks for dropping by. I am scheduling these posts again as I am overseas. This is the ninth of many Dreadnought reinforcements I bought from Goddenzilla at Kaiju Country blog. A Castraferrum Dreadnought (original metal one) armed with Assault Cannon and Storm Bolter CCW Fist.
The scheme from Goddenzilla has again been adapted to my own, the golds repainted, overall brightened up, and some optics re-coloured. The greys lightened to match my own forces (Dawnstone/washed Nuln Oil). This one is also joining my 4th Company as the 5th have plenty!
I've added the Fallout Hobbies Relictor 'side skulls' decals again, starting as I mean to go on refreshing the decals on the entire force eventually...
The original metal smoke launchers were so much more substantial than the plastic replacements from the vehicle frame. I like the skull and lightning flash detail on the Assault Cannon arm, I'd never noticed that before. I hope Assault Cannons get improved as currently at the time of writing (10th Edn.) they are lacklustre and are AP-, worse than a Bolt Rifle for penetration, yet are meant to be like a 20th Century MK4 Mini-Gun.
And the original from Goddenzilla

Relictors Space Marine Chapter - Castraferrum Ironclad Dreadnought #8

Hello Readers, thanks for dropping by. I am scheduling these posts again as I return overseas. This is the eighth of many Dreadnought reinforcements I bought from Goddenzilla at Kaiju Country blog. An Ironclad Castraferrum Dreadnought.
The scheme from Goddenzilla has been adapted to my own, the golds repainted, overall brightened up, and some optics re-coloured. This one is also joining my 4th Company as the 5th have plenty!
The Dreadnought Siege Chainfist sports the new Relictors decals.
I repainted the base to match my own scheme and some tufts were added.
This one was extensively re-painted to a lighter grey to match my forces, and the details touched up. Here is Goddenzilla's original Dreadnought, also Relictors scheme.
Eight of the eighteen sorted and added to the Relictors forces, cheers Goddenzilla mate.

Relictors Space Marine Chapter - Castraferrum Dreadnought #7

Hello Readers, thanks for dropping by. I am scheduling these posts again as I return overseas. This is the seventh of many Dreadnought reinforcements I bought from Goddenzilla at Kaiju Country blog. A longer-range Dual Lascannon and a Dreadnought CC weapon variety, this one attached to my 4th Company.
Re-armed from the Goddenzilla Siege Dreadnought below
Here was the original with Dual Heavy Flamers and a Heavy Flamer under the CC Weapon
I fully repainted the Dreadnought except the endo skeleton metals beneath. The base was spruced up with warmer browns and hints of vegetation.
The replacement arm was the Venerable Dreadnought Lascannon but with the elaborate muzzles removed and plain ones from a Land Raider swapped in, this is not meant to be a Venerable Brother, and the flashy muzzles I will use for a Custodes Land Raider project.
Thanks for dropping by, I hope you are enjoying the old-school OOP Castraferrum Dreadnoughts in all their boxy glory!

Relictors Chapter Space Marine - Castraferrum Dreadnought #1

Hello Readers, thanks for dropping by. I am scheduling these posts again as I return overseas. This is the first of many Dreadnought reinforcements I bought from Goddenzilla at Kaiju Country blog, at the link I now have the honour of matching 18 of these to my current Relictors Battle Company, mainly all the Castraferrum types - (the square boxy ones, rather sadly now OOP, so this can be my ode to them). This one is an ancient METAL dreadnought with plastic arms. It weighs a ton, haha.
Here he is in the new livery of my Relictors 4th Company.
Here he was just before the re-dedication, in Goddenzilla's Relictors livery.
The main changes were the base colours, to match my extensive forces. I also brightened the panels with some Codex Grey, highlights of Administratum Grey and the muzzle brakes of bone colour. I also re-did the lenses, brightening them up, did the front armour plate details with my usual golds and red internal glass. The Battle Company I have have skull motifs on the front facings, made from a lot of WFB Shield Bosses, I still have a number of these to further link this into my forces. I mounted this on a black panel to match my other Dreadnoughts.

The 4th Company have a lot less Dreadnoughts than my extensive 5th Company, so denoted by the large 4 set on a green stripe this one joins the ranks for the 4th Company Relictors ever growing Battle Company.
The change of the base to my usual Calthan Browm (like Mournfang) goes a long way to matching it into my forces, I also highlighted the metals with Iron Hands Steel to further brighten the scheme to match mine. Thanks to Goddenzilla for the opportunity to grow my Battle Companies further, his scheme is a great hand-up to apply my touches to.
Here is the newest Dreadnought compared to my first Dreadnought in 2008.

Relictors Chapter Space Marines - 4th Company Tactical Squad #4

Hello Readers, thanks for dropping by. I have been gifted a Tactical Squad from my mate Goddenzilla at Kaiju Country as he makes room for his Imperator Titan! I also bought 18 Relictors Dreadnoughts from him to make my own too, so re-basing and like these a few touch-ups.
These are my fourth, 4th Co. Tactical Squad, the first being the re-modelled Tactical Squad plastics from 2014 and the two RTB01 Squads completed as part of the annual Squaduary hobby events in 2017 and 2018.
Veteran Sergeant Aurelius from Gamesday 2005 now leads the squad, the original Sergeant will get used for another project, perhaps Tactical Squad 5... I weathered his greaves to match the squad. Armed with a Power Fist he will be handy for striking back in Close Combat. The special and heavy weapons are a Missile Launcher and Flamer.
Some of these plastics are from the Assault on Black Reach box set I believe, but not all of them, like Tactical Squad 6 of 5th Company, missing the ML backpack, the 'grey knight' helm, the bolter strap versions, and the Flamer has had his Pauldron shaved free of the detail.
Here you can see the subtle differences from what Goddenzilla gifted me, I removed the gold trim, adding the steel Aquila on chest and the green pauldron trim of 4th Company. I also added the bone colour kneepad, a diagonal stripe denoting a Tactical Squad, a marking I used since 2008 with Tactical Squads 1 and 2. Added brass magazine; re-done the golds; metal vents on rear and an edge highlight of Administratum grey to match my other forces. The base rims were also extended using TTAdaptors 25 to 32mm rings. I also re-done the decals to match my forces.

Cheers, Siph (9pts - Sergeant Aurelius already posted)

Relictors Space Marines - 4th Company Veteran Sergeant Aurelius - Gamesday 2005

Hello Readers, thanks for dropping by. The latest addition to the Relictors ranks is for the growing 4th Company, a Sergeant for the next Tactical Squad (currently just two, RTB01 Tactical Squads and a few Dev Sqds). This is a long overdue miniature, Veteran Sergeant Aurelius from Gamesday 2005!
I added a banner and a larger 32mm base using a TTAdapters 25-32mm ring.
He will lead a Tactical Squad I have procured from my mate Goddenzilla at Kaiju Country blog as he was shifting some Relictors he had painted in the far distant past and needed to make room for more projects (he has made a magnificent Imperator Titan). He also let me have 18 more Casteferrum type Dreadnoughts which I will slowly re-do some bases etc.
I was rather pleased with the face, it was the first time I used Guilliman Flesh contrast over Kislev Flesh. He has tons of detail, from sculptor Juan Diaz, the apex of GW's metal casting before failcast and expansion of plastics...

Relictors Space Marine Chapter - MK1b Rhino APC for 4th Company

I cannot resist a decent eBay find, this was a plain Rhino in blue, decent enough but thin coats of paint which made the purchase appealing...  My 4th Company RTB01 Marines have two full squads, but only a single Rhino, so now they both have a ride in style. The above reminds me of the 90's box art style!
I added the Chaos chains to 'Relictor' it a little. Base coat was Uniform Grey from Army Painter, over brushed Codex Grey (Dawnstone) and washed Nuln Oil, drybrushed Administratum Grey.
I picked out some stowage, an ammo crate and a camouflage sheet for the empty track rear sections. This one unfortunately didn't have the fragile hand rails like the first. (EDIT - I managed to pick some up on eBay from a very nice bitz seller, theblisteredheel).
I manufactured some hatch handles from some spare radar antenna bits from the vehicle frame, cut and shaped as necessary to form new handles.
Here is Squad IV with their new/old ride.
And a shot of the Rogue Trader motorpool as it stands, all attached to 4th Company, as quite frankly 5th Company is huge already!

EDIT - The bitz I wanted came through and I have managed to purchase the delicate handrails and a missing hatch underneath!

Relictors Space Marine Rogue Trader Predator - RTB08

Hello All, thanks for dropping by, my latest (and somewhat ancient) addition to the 4th Company Relictors is an old school cool RTB08 Space Marine Predator Assault Tank.
(I remember buying these boxes from Oxford Street Plaza Games Workshop)
I added my usual shield boss skull face all my Relictors vehicles have, and a modern front rake and a sensor and grab rails from AdMech kits. The long side rails are missing but thats totally usual with second hand kits.
The original box art had small pennant flags showing Chapter Icon and Company/Squadron number so I obliged with some paper banners and decals, on paperclip aerials as the original were in a bad way.
The kit when received was heavily coated in thick chalky paint, no idea what it was, not acrylic or enamel, probably craft paint and thick white to cover up... anyway, the worst bits got sanded down flat but I just overpainted the majority as it was too difficult to remove - just adds to the charm.
The model was sprayed Uniform Grey from Army Painter, metallics picked out with Abaddon Black and tidied up with Codex Grey (Dawnstone) and metals a variety of Leadbelcher, Warlock Brass and some black sooting on exhaust stacks.
I added some purity seals to this relic of the Chapter and the spare crates on the rear marked with Company green and numeral 4, and Chapter badge white skull on black field. The pennants followed suite.
Here it is with my other 4th Company vehicle, a Mk1b Rhino.
And next to the modern variant.

Cheers for checking this old school beauty out. Cheers, Siph (5pts)
