Imperial Assassins - WIP

Hello one and All,

I'm finding at the moment my hobby time is getting less due to other commitments, however I did find some time to build an execution force of assassins. These are from the box set of the same name, I wasn't going to use these, however having seen the difference in size of these to the original ones I have and their details, I thought I had to get them done, and added to my force!
I will be painting these all the same scheme, to tie into them being an '(x)force' (there might be a clue to the colours there)
I will be painting these in sub sections with the base separate to the body, and any parts that will be in the way removed (I'm looking at you Vindicare sniper rifle.) The scheme should be straightforward, with a red base coat over a black undercoat, further black details and then washes/highlights etc. With then the eyes picked out in white.
Cheers for looking! LH

Assassin Execution Force Complete - Vindicare Assassin

Welcome Readers, thanks for dropping in. Following on from the Callidus Assassin, the Eversor Assassin and the Culexus Assassin I bought ages ago, here is the final Assassin of the Execution Force - well, this one isn't, this is an old metal Vindicare I painted myself recently.

I never got a copy of the Assassin Execution Force game on release however, plenty of assassin models appeared on eBay shortly after and now they get their own blister packs. I didn't want to fund the money grabbing greedy re-sellers at the time, so I bought a pre-painted decent set from an artist/hobbyist instead. But, I preferred the older Vindicare to the newer one sulking behind a ruin, my Vindicare can hide in plain sight!

I re-based him using a 32mm adapter, I did a monochrome scheme all over, and then furnished with a few bits of colour to bring the scheme to life, a too realistic monochrome scheme wouldn't really pop.
And here is the Execution Force in all it's full deadly glory. I think they look great. Thanks for dropping in and having a look-see. Cheers, Siph.

Culexus Assassin

Welcome Readers, thanks for dropping in. Following on from the Callidus Assassin and the Eversor Assassin I bought ages ago, here is the final of three assassins I bought.

So not all my own work, just adapted from a real decent paint job.

I re did the base to match my forces and re-painted all the psychic matrix nodes (blue bits) with Stormhost Silver and Soulstone Blue for a shiny gem like weird gubbins look. I brightened up the Psyk-out grenades and highlighted the brasswork.
I also repainted the cables blue to match the Psi-matrix bits and he was done. Not much effort from me, but now adapted to be my own.
And finally, a shot of all three together, looking great together. I have a older Vindicare I will paint up myself, I prefer the older pose to the new one cowering behind some ruins.
Thanks for droping by, cheers, Siph.

Eversor Assassin

Welcome Readers, thanks for dropping in. Following on from the Callidus Assassin I bought ages ago, here is a quick un-Christmassy post lol. Not a fat man in a red suit, but a black body-glove wearing brutal combat-stimmed psychotic Assassin instead!

I never got a copy of the Assassin Execution Force game on release however, plenty of Assassin models appeared on eBay shortly after and now they get their own blister packs. I didn't want to fund the money grabbing greedy re-sellers at the time, so I bought a pre-painted decent one from an artist/hobbyist instead. So not all my own work, just adapted from a real decent paint job.
I re-did the base and skull and dirtied with Typhus Corrosion, some small details, scope and lenses, highlights on the leather and red armour, brass shell cases, but I left the wonderful green glow of the eye lenses and the combat drug dispensers, but the little alterations made him fit my own forces
I saw Rob's 30kplus40k post about his Eversor Assassin base and that reminded me to get this one out of deep To-Do pile storage (I forgot I had him!) and out he popped and finished off.
So, not all my own work by any standards, it was a great job to start with, but hey, it's mine now and will be used in a battle soon! Can't wait to see how it performs on the field in melee, I've never fielded one myself but I'm told he is a beast when he gets there!

Callidus Assassin

Welcome Reader, thanks for dropping in. Here is the latest addition to the Weemen collection, I was unfortunately unable to get hold of a copy of the Assassin game on release, however, plenty of Assassin models appeared on eBay shortly after. Instead of feeding the eBay hoarder army of re-sellers, I at least plumped for a decent painted one, at least this was a hobbyist who constructed and painted his before selling on. So not all my own work, just adapted from a decent paint job.
I re did the base, the hair and some small details, highlights on the leather, the eye lenses and the neural disruptor to make this piece my own and fit with the rest of my forces.
I did have the intention of cutting the long braid off completely and making it more 'realistic' for an assassin operative, however I grew to like the oversized impractical hair-do... gives good height to the miniature and some dynamism and movement.
So, not all my own work, but hey, it's mine now and will be used in a battle soon! Can't wait to see how it performs on the field in melee.
