Adeptus Custodes - Shield Captain in Allarus Terminator Armour

Hello All, thanks for dropping by. Had a spare Allarus Terminator with the Shield Captain Pauldrons so painted up the few details to make as a Shield Captain for sale on eBay rather than a generic Allarus Custodes. 

Added highlights to the plume, and skin

Painted the gold leaf thread in the cloak to mark out as a Shield Captain over a normal Allarus Custodes, and added detail to the Castellan Axe rather than have it plain and unadorned.

Painted the Ballistus Grenade Launcher and based the rim a more generic brown (Steel Legion Drab I think). Hopefully will find a new home as I am currently awash with Allarus Custodians... two squads of Custodes and already have a Shield Captain and Vexilus Praetor.

Adeptus Custodes - Shield Captain in Allarus Armour

Hello All, thanks for dropping by. On the coat tails of the Custodian Guardians a few weeks ago, I have added a Shield Captain in Allarus Armour to lead them. A formidable warrior!

I followed the Duncan Rhodes tutorial again, and to mark him out as a Shield Captain I added the rather ornate gold Pteruges and the ornate shoulder pauldrons. Colour wise the purple braid on the Castellan Axe will denote his rank.

The wrist mounted Balistus Grenade Launcher

He has a Misericordia too. I followed the guide to do the cloak, and love the results. Chaos Red, washed Nuln Oil, base Chaos red again leaving the darker recesses, highlight Wazdakka Red and very slight highlight on the extreme edges of Squig Orange. I used an old pot of Gehennas Gold to be different from the golds used on the armour.

Adeptus Custodes - Shield Captain - Ixion Hale and next WIP

Hi everyone, next up is my completed Shield Captain, based on the forge world Ixion Hale model.

This model has been painted like the other 10 Adeptus Custodes, with a deep Red to contrast with the Retributor Gold armour. Details are the same with regards gems and weapon colour schemes using Soulstone Blue over Stormhost Silver.

The only difference is the cape colour, which I've opted to go for a deep purple - to add a little regal character to the model rather than the same colours throughout, marking him out as a higher ranking Custodian.

Next up off the vast to-do pile... I've build Captain-General Trajann Voloris, great looking model, just needs colour!

The Lion cloth I've not attached yet, as I feel it'll be easier to complete them separately.
