Relictors Space Marines - Company Champion

Hello All, thanks for dropping in to have a look. This is a rather special post to me - my official completion to my Relictors 5th Battle Company! This is the special limited edition Army Box set Veteran Sergeant model, converted and re-armed to be the Company Champion.
The Combat Shield comes from the 2nd Edn metal Terminators, the arm from a 3rd party Emperor of Mankind model, the power pack from a Limited Edition Sternguard Sergeant metal model too. I added a plastic arm and voila. The original arm with the raised Storm Bolter is on my Veteran Squad with Storm Shields and Storm Bolters.
I used a 32mm adapter ring to increase the base size. The Power Sword was layered with Kantor Blue, Sotek Green and then edged with Templeguard Blue and Baharroth Blue at the tip.
The purples were Contrast Shylish Purple highlighted Daemonette Hide. The power nubs on the reverse of the shield were coated with Nihilakh Oxide.
The traditional Company Command Squad now complete, Veterans, Ancient Banner Bearer, Apothecary and finally the Champion - I have an extensive Battle Company as sold in the Battle Company Box Set now OOP -
  • 2 HQ Characters - Company Captain plus one
  • 1 Razorback
  • 1 Command Squad - 2 Vets, Apothecary, Banner, Champion
  • 6 Tactical Squads and Rhinos
  • 2 Devastator Squads and Rhinos
  • 2 Assault Squads
However it was never officially complete without a Company Champion, so finally after 11yrs I did it (with a lot of extra Armoury additions and a fledgling 4th Company and Primaris reinforcements...)

Cheers for stopping by, Siph. (10pts)

Relictors 4th Company Command Squad - Apothecary, Champion and Lieutenant

Hello All, thanks for dropping in to WeeMen. I have a few Characters to show today. I've finished off the 4th Company command characters I bought as a job lot eBay rescue along with the Company Ancient and the Techmarine already seen. I am pleased with the addition of the helix on the Chainsword.
This Apothecary started life as a Company Veteran but a backpack change and a new paintjob  plus re-basing on 32mm meant with some work he will now (and has) see battle on the 41st Millennium again.
As with the other members of the 4th Company Command, he has a relic book atop his armour and a command star on the right pauldron but now in Apothecary colours with the left pauldron a Relictors half skull and green company colour trim.
The Company Champion started life as a completely different model with Storm Bolter Power Fist. I repainted him entirely and gave him a relic blade from the bits box.
I painted his cloak to green Company colours and added a suitable Champion-esque pauldron with a green flash. He has the flaming braziers backpack the other Command Squad members have.
The original model came with an Inquisitorial Seal pauldron so I ran with it and gave it Relictor colours, maybe he had served attached to Inquisitorial retinue or Deathwatch some time ago? His helmet signifies his Veteran status in bone off-white colours.
The final member of these three started life as a Veteran and now has been upgraded to a close-combat armed Lieutenant. His job is to sit back with the heavy guns and offer his re-roll bubble (Command Advice) and if attacked, launch into defence of his charges.
I swapped out his original brazier armed weapon for a standard Chainsword and Power Axe for some bite. I was rather pleased with the overall look and the Lieutenant helmet stripes are the first ones I've done and look good.
Again the Command Star pauldron in Relictors colours with a green trim. The Power Axe looks quite heretical, just right for Relictors - maybe it's a Daemon Weapon?! Shhh...
So, there you have it, three more characters to fill out my 4th Company command.
And here they are with the other two members, five decent rescue jobs and rightly based on larger bases with re-paints and some re-modelling.

Cheers, Siph. (20pts - 1x complete repaint 10pts, plus 2x partial extensive re-paints so half points)

Relictors Company Banner Bearer - Command Squad Progress

Hello Readers, thanks for dropping by to our humble corner of the blogosphere. Today I'd like to show off my latest addition to the Relictors 5th Battle Company and the Command Squad. The previous members of the Command Squad can be seen here Veterans and here Apothecary. The large number denotes 5th Company, as does the Black colour. Not sure why I chose XXI as these were not from the 21st Cursed Founding, the Relictors were formed from the Fire Claws Chapter, one of the Praeses Chapters raised to defend the Eye of Terror, maybe I got confused with the Fire Hawks (who became the Legion of the Damned)... lost to the mists of time, ha ha.
I bought this torso years ago with the intention of using him for something fitting and special, his tabard was made of greenstuff (by someone else) as was the ornate gold shoulder pauldron. I painted these following the gold tutorial on WHTV by our liege Duncan. I really like Retributor Gold and Liberator Gold.
The censers where from a Dark Angels upgrade sprue I think, that or Black Templars? Fitting as the geneseed is from Ultramarines and Dark Angels originally. Like the Veterans (or is that now Ancients?) with Storm Shields I adorned his power pack with an Imperial Aquila.
Fittingly I added a Terminator Honours shoulder pad to denote his status and worthiness to uphold the Company Banner! I think the skull motif on the banner was cut out from an early White Dwarf or Space Hulk supplement... it was printed out and sealed to the plastic banner, its been years in the To-Do pile so I can't really remember.
So, the obligatory shot of the Command Squad so far, getting there... means I now have just one member to go until I can call the Battle Company complete! Just one Company Champion to do, not that the Battle Company is not expanded beyond just troops and transports! See the whole Company and Armoury here, taken last year.
And a shot of them on the battlefield. Cheers for dropping by, Siph.

Relictors Space Marine Command Squad Veterans w/ Storm Shields

Hello, here is the latest addition to the Relictors Battle Company (plus extensive arsenal... see HERE). I have finally added to the lonely Apothecary from the Command Squad completed back in 2011, with the addition of two Veterans armed with Grav Guns and to keep them around a little longer, proxy Storm Shields - I love the Forge World Breacher Siege Squad miniatures so had to include them somewhere, so what better opportunity than to represent two Veterans with Storm Shields.
Here you can see the Grav Guns, the same scheme as my 4th Company Tactical Squad, and soon to have 3 Grav Bike Squads too...
The Power Pack is from two of the Limited Edition Sergeant with Bolter and Power Fist from a few years back, I think it is great at marking out these two as Command Squad Veterans.
I used a studded Pauldron and the other Pauldrons from the Betrayal at Calth box set, also the legs and torso too. the heads are from the FW Breacher Squad as they have Optics which link to the Optics in the Breacher (Storm) Shield.
Here is the Command Squad so far, so only two Miniatures until the Battle Company is 'officially' complete, although it never really will be will it ;)

Thanks for dropping by, cheers, Siph.

Relictors Command Squad Apothecary

So I have been slowly plodding along with the previous post project Drop Pods but get easily distracted... This is a product of that distraction. Here is the latest addition to the ever growing Relictor Battle Company, an Apothecary for the Command Squad.

I have had the parts for his backpack for a while now, ever since I got the bits packs for the Fallen Backpacks on my Sternguard, found here, each bits pack came with 4 of these and one Fabius Bile Backpack. So my plan hatched and since these guys dabble a little with Chaos, a perfect blend for my Apothecary with a few plastic enhancements - the helix and the Spotlight.

Hope you like? Comments welcome, thanks for looking.
