Necron Dynasty - Tesseract Vault Superheavy Flyer - WIP

Hello all, thanks for dropping in to WeeMen. I have been working on a very large model after several small Relictors, I thought I'd change it up and work on my Christmas present, a Necron Tesseract Vault. Its a model I am fairly familiar with as I have had a Obelisk Superheavy Flyer in my collection since 2014. The kit is a dual kit, some people magnetise, however I liked the Obelisk power to down aircraft (in 7th) so glued mine and when I was asked what I wanted for Christmas, I selected this to right that wrong and add this HUGE beast to my collection.
I took a while sampling online looks and painted up one panel and showed Lord Halfpenny, nice and blue as always but with the gold 'wraithform scarab thing' to show the seniority of the doom engine! Things in my huge Necron Dynasty Army have more gold the further they climb up the ladder of power, and although a prisoner, the C'tan shard within is pretty powerful so gold it has.
Here is the soon to be caged C'tan Shard, and some of the gubbins to hold him there. I used contrast paints to give the liquid fire effect, came out okay. My gauss energy is reddish, so his colours fit that.

Back to painting this beast... 3 more outer wall sections to do!

Cheers, Siph.

Necron C'Tan Shard - Shard of the Nightbringer

Happy New Year! Hello avid Readers, thanks for dropping in again. I have always loved the Nightbringer C'Tan Shard model, like a big scary 'Death' figure, looming over the battlefield. Well, after my dealings so far with the Finecast (Failcast) Necron Cryptek or Heavy Destroyers (binned), I opted for an old metal version from EBay. Thise long extended arms would be too flimsy and no-doubt mis-cast too - so a metal one will be better!
Not all my own work, the C'Tan was painted to a good enough standard as seen above, I just had to repair the damage (both arms) and repaint the joins, base and Scarabs. I also re-did the Scythe and blade and added some Blood for the Blood God effects on the blade. He is a little mis-built at the knee which can be seen at the top photo, however, without pointing it out you didn't notice - there was too much glue in the join to remake without damaging it - so it will do nicely as is.
A rather characterful and nice addition to the Necron Army so far. Hope you like the progress I've been making. I've a busy New Yearfor the first few months, so posts may be scarce until I've moved to a bigger better Weeman House!

Necron C'Tan Shard / Transcendent C'Tan

I was lucky enough to get a Necron Obelisk / Tesseract Vault for Christmas and have decided to build it as an Obelisk for that lovely Gravity Pulse each turn to ground flyers... there is always next year for a Tesseract Vault! So as I build and paint the big bit, the leftovers give enough pieces for a C'Tan Shard or as Alex (From the Fang) points out, a Transcendent C'Tan!
I decided to build it with a metal base piece so imply it is still under the control of a Necron Overlord, and from a black base I built up the colours from Scab Red through to Yellow. I know fire glows the brightest from the centre, but I'll leave that to the next year's Shard...
He has a simple collar and face mask to reflect the same colour scheme as the Necron Warriors with a little brass Icon. A bonus miniature, from leftovers - nice!

Hope you all had a good Christmas and a nice New Year!
