Deathwatch Chapter Space Marine Characters - Done

Hello one and all,

Two completed characters for my offerings this week, both for my Deathwatch force.

First up, the Iron Father model - or first born techmarine as he will be in game, (I might change him for a captain in the future... if needed..)

The model has been painted akin to the other Deathwatch force. I opted for black armour, than the red normally associated with Techmarines. I think this is right for a Deathwatch marine.
The Judiciar next, this has had a couple of changed made - I wanted to change the weapon to that of one of the Necron models in the Indomius set - I opted for one of the bigger swords (Hyperphase Reap Blade - Siph) in the set, which looks perfect for the background of the character. a 3D printed pauldron was added to the right shoulder, and a DW one for the left.

I also changed the left arm, using a spare bit which changes the look, and captured the feel I wanted. as if waiting to spin the weapon around, and use 2 handed. An old servo skull was added to the left shoulder holding the Indominus icon - whcih links the two models together, and the timer below it - I had to add this in some way to the model, and really like the way it sits on the model. The Servo skull looks like it is just floating over the shoulder, which is the look I wanted.

The Power sword has had several different washes and layers of purples to pink, to white to get the look I wanted. and am pretty happy with the result!

Thanks for looking! DH (20pts)

Relictors 4th Company Ancient and Techmarine

Hello all, thanks for dropping by. I recently was browsing eBay and saw some Relictors up for sale, only a couple of squads but the scheme looked to be able to fit in with mine and I wanted to give them a new lease of life (or death) on the battlefields of the 41st millennium, so I bought them and then adapted them to fit my existing forces.
The rather impressive Company Ancient already had a freehand banner and the fortuitous "IV" finial atop the banner pole, (its a reversed "VI") so I overpainted the purple trim to match the 4th Company green, added the 4th Company numeral and added some script.
The Ancient himself was tidied up, pauldrons repainted with green 4th Company trim and the icon white. The leather was redone brown, cloak highlights reapplied, golds picked out, details done and the helmet re-painted bone to signify his Veteran status. The purity seals were repainted and he was rebased using 32mm adapters. Quite a significant change from the gloss coated original.
Why I bought these particular Marines was for the rather ornate flaming censer backpacks and the Command Squad 'book' icons on the backpacks giving a unique yet Relictor feel. These were old metal Dark Angel robed marine sculpts so fitted as Relictors come from UM and DA geneseed.
These particular ones actually have the original Relictors Chapter badges on metal sculpted pauldrons, so rather than rip them off to match my own 'skull' decal I have used extensively, I will keep these and limit them to Command Squad, Character and Sternguard roles.
Since the 8th Codex dropped I have been on the look out for a basic Techmarine too, healing D3 wounds back on to my Venerable Dreads or tanks is too good to pass by, a cheap HQ option too. This job lot came with this rather nice chap.
Again, the flaming censer backpack and this one holds an auspex and a Mechanicus Axe/Wrench, ideal for a basic servo-armed Techmarine, all my other Techmarines are Thunderfire Techmarines with full harness apparatus.
Again, I repainted extensively, picking out details and redoing the pauldrons and feet to Techmarine reds, the leather in brown and rebased to 32mm. The skulls received some Contrast Skeleton Horde.
Some awesome eBay re-appropriations for my growing 4th Company and extensive 5th Company! And yes, a distraction from getting my Primaris reinforcements done, but I wanted to get these done rather than add more to the to-do pile (like 10 Combi-Melta Sternguard...the other lot in this bundle) but now my 4th Company has a Company Banner to rally around and I'm rather pleased how these turned out after a bit of TLC.

Thanks for dropping by, cheers, Siph. (10 points, half points for Characters as basics were done)

Relictors Thunderfire Cannon #3 and Full Battery

Hello Readers, thanks for dropping by. My latest offering to Our Liege Duncan is a third Thunderfire Cannon and Techmarine Gunner. This one converted from the Forge World Legion Vexilla - an odd sculpt, not fitting in the rest of the range and benefitted from being made into a unique Techmarine Gunner I think.
The Cannon itself matches the other two exactly, with the numeral identification the only really difference. Unlike number two, this is once again a metal model.
And the Techmarine Gunner using the Vexilla Torso and Legs, I've used an Ad Mech Datasmith Head and the Thunderfire Techmarine Harness and Arms.
I reversed the colours with this one for variety, grey Relictor armour with red Techmarine Arms and Servo Harness.
A fine looking Techmarine Gunner, and also useful on the battlefield even when the cannon is destrpyed, a Plasma Cutter and Flamer plus Servo Harness makes him a decent Character.
Here are the three Gunners together. A unique bunch - just as the Machine God wants.
And the Battery
All together the firepower will upset someones day! Thanks for dropping by, Cheers, Siph.

Relictors - Thunderfire Cannon and Techmarine Gunner #2

Hello Readers, thanks for having a look-see. This is my latest addition to the ever growing Relictors Battle Company arsenal, another Thunderfire Cannon and Techmarine Gunner. The first was a metal kit done as the box instructs (HERE), but for variation between Gunners, this kit I chose something different.
The cannon was a Finecast version bought secondhand and then painted to match the first exactly, the console is in the wrong place, however it was stuck there by the previous owner and looks fine, so it stayed.  The finecast kit was nowhere near as straight or solid as the metal kit and lacks the nice weight the metal kit provides, but once painted you have to look carefully to see. I now snatch this one from the tabletop expecting a heavier weight! lol.
The Gunner is a mix of parts, FW Iron Hands Medusan Immortal body, a Techmarine Auspex arm, a Onager Dunecrawler bionic 'arm' and a Pauldron from a SM Vehicle sprue, a BatC Plasma Pistol 'cutter', an old metal Techmarine backpack and 'Flamer' pincer plus a ammo hoist arm from the original Techmarine Gunner set holding a Thunderfire Shell.
I cut the Mechandrites from the original backpack, inserted the Thunderfire arm and then reattached at a steeper angle to look more natural. Here you can also see the cut down Plasma Pistol as a counts-as Plasma Cutter on the end of the rather fitting Ad Mech Onager Dunecrawler arm.
The older Techmarine Backpack fits in seamlessly. I love that this Medusan Immortal has a Bionic Leg.
I also painted the right hand holding the Auspex/Targeter as a Bionic Hand, this Gunner is close to the Machine God!
And here is the Thunderfire Battery as it stands, shame in 8th these are separate Heavy Slots now, but the Tremor Shells Strategm is useful to slow fast dangerous enemy units and the Thunderfire is a great multiple shot weapon.
Lastly, I added numeral indicators to the guns so I know and the enemy knows what one is what. Thanks for looking, hopefully I gave you some potential ideas for a Techmarine conversion and cheers for dropping by. Thanks, Siph. (5pts for Vehicle rather than 10 painting points for a Character)

Master of the Forge on Jet Bike Conversion

Hi One and All!

Thank you again for checking out our blog,

Up on show next is my, what counted as a Master of the Forge, now Techmarine on a Jet Bike (Counts as Bike), with under slung Conversion Beamer. This was a project I started about 5 years ago, with the idea before that! Siph did his version of a MotF Techmarine on bike after I had the idea for mine, so a while back indeed!

The Jetbike is the Sammael model, with the addition of a Techmarine body, and legs in place of Sammael. The under slung Plasma Cannon was then cut away, and replaced with a Forgeworld Contemptor Conversion Beamer - the arm perfectly sits within the void left by the plasma cannon. a portion of the Plasma Cannon is used to look like a vent from the Beamer.
The Techmarine tome on the front of the bike I decided to add script that looked like how a Conversion Beamer might work, to be honest is designed to look like an X-ray system which is what my degree in University is, Radiography!

The final picture is the MotF flying on the battle board. I do hope the rules in 8th include him so I can use him as I planned!
Thanks for looking, Cheers, Lord Halfpenny.

Edit, Following comments- pleasse see the close up of the book..

Necron Warriors - more from the To-Do Pile - 30-35

Hello Readers, thanks for dropping in, more progress battling the to-do pile, 5 more Necron Warriors now done, another 10 to do, leftover from a Battle Force boxset. I already did all the Canoptek Scarab bases, seen HERE. And the rest of the existing warriors can be seen HERE.
So I guess these are Necron Warrior Squad 7, but with the latest codex, minimum squad size was increased to 10, so actually these are the beginnings of Squad 4. The copper capacitor coils are Fulgurite Copper, my new favourite metallic colour. These are my basic Necrons so they lack any Blue or Gold accents, but the metals are actually more than sprayed! Its Platemetal AP Spray washed with Nuln Oil and Agrax Earthshade and highlighted Runefang Steel. Neat, functional and mass produced - just like Necron Warriors should be!
Whilst I was at it, I re-based the Thunderfire Techmarine to a more stable and suitable 32mm base, much better. I am also slowly re-basing the existing Marines to 32mm bases using the TTAdapters I have, a process seen in the tutorial HERE - really easy if you are thinking of it, I have another 130+ Marines to do.

Thanks for dropping by.

WIP- Techmarine Master of the Forge Jet Bike

A quick Work in Progress post,

I have been working on a project for some time now for my marines, a project which was 'in my head' for some years..

I love the master of the ravenwing jetbike, and really wanted to include something similar with my marines- more for the look of the model than the rules set.. I decided to go for a master of the forge on the jet bike- in keeping with the fluff for the forge master. I had bought a jet bike some years ago, however I never got the project going due to being metal, and the thought of cutting into it to convert filled me with dread- then finecast arrived!

Siph bought me the Jetbike for my birthday last year, I had already planned and purchased the 'weapon of choice' from forgeworld- a conversion beamer.

The Jet Bike
The jet bike was converted, with the plasma cannon cut away, and the conversion beamer from a contemptor used in its place- I used half the arm joint to act as the weapon brace. The end of the plasma cannon was attached to the back portion to give the appearance of the vents from the conversion beamer.
The Rider

The Master of the Ravenwing had his legs chopped from just above the knee, and replaced with the legs from a techmarine with a servo harness. The said model's torso was then used as the body of the rider. The left 'axe' arm was used- both to show his rank, but also it looks pretty sweet the way he is holding aloft- even though he is flying around at speed. The right arm with the bolter, had the bolter cut away, the wrist was then glued to the right hand on the handle bars. There is tubing from the wrist that was glued to the handle bars also.
The back of the rider had several 'wires' and 'tubes' attached, again in keeping with the look of a techmarine.
I'm really pleased with the final look of the conversion- I plan to have two bases for the  model- the first a 'flying base' the second a dynamic base that's angled for storage in my cabinet.

I hope you like- time to paint him!

Relictors Master of the Forge Techmarine with Conversion Beamer

Hi all, I have finished my not so secret 'mystery' project posted a few days back. It was indeed a Master of the Forge on bike with Conversion Beamer. The Master is suitably garbed in a MK6 Artificer Armour with big shiney Gold Shifter as a badge of Office (!), painted the same as my other Techmarine, red with grey head and arms. I used a number of pieces for this mini. A rogue trader Conversion Beamer from the Eighties, an Attack Bike (duh!), a rogue trader Techmarine Rider from a jet bike and a Servo Arm from an early Techmarine (plus a few hacked off gubbins from the techmarine - I was going to use his lower legs but failed, so he was in for the chop). The front searchlight scanner thing is from the Aegis defence line and the power cables to the gun and the plasma charge thing-y on the rear fender are from a lascannon sponson. The power pack on the side car is from a Sentinel kit and finally, a Servo Skull from the Devastators kit. I took the time to repace the hub of the sidecar whell with a Mechanicus symbol as well as paint the fuel tank skull motifs half and half like the Mech symbol too. The front fender is a tranfer which I then Mech'ed up in a similar way. Here's a close up of the Old Skool early, pre-space crusade Rogue Trader Conversion Beamer itself (edit: Very similar to Rogue Trader Heavy Plasma Gun but with 'ears'!) and the last pic shows the bits...Hope you like. I googled beforehand and nothing really showed up save a single bike rider version, but I think a Conversion Beamer warrants a side car to dish out all that 72" St10, AP 1 Blast fun!!! Watch out Pornstarjedi's Landraiders...

Let me know what you think, thanks.
