Hello All! I trust you had a great Christmas. Happy New Year!

2022 I got back my hobby Mojo, after a year and a half away, mainly due to a house move, and not really getting the urge back.. however I am ready to go, and after a successful 2022, completing my hobby bingo card, I am ready to go again.

This year I am planning to complete several large projects..

  • 2 Warhound Titans
  • 1 Reaver Titan
  • 1 Warlord Titan
  • My Adeptus Titanicus Titan Maniple
  • Terrain
  • Imperator Titan carapace
  • Basing my Imperial Guard force

Lord TITANium Halfpenny - 2022 Update!

Hello one and all!

Thank you for stopping by!

I am still here, and indeed will be planning more posts. I've gone through a little of a hobby-hobble, but now back and ready to get building and painting! Last year was a poor show on my part - Sorry Siph!

Recently I started rebuilding the models that were damaged either by the house move, or when one of my bookcases collapsed - hence the hobby-hobble. I've rebuilt 3 of 4 Cerastus Knights, with the 4th ready to finish - I am just needing to rewire the LEDs.

Daemons have had all parts broken repaired, or converted back to standard. This included my chaos spawn squid - from the LotR model, this was a pain as the tentacles were all snapped away from the model, with the pins snapped..

I still have 3 drop pods to redo, however I have taken the time to repaint some of the details missed previously.

I am working on Deathwatch Primaris Aggressors at the moment, and hope to have these 6 finished soon, then onto the remaining 15 or so Primaris before I take on the first-born Marines that are sat waiting to be painted!

My hobby goals for the year are to:

  1. Complete majority of my Deathwatch force
  2.  Start and complete my AT force (still in boxes)
  3. Terrain
  4. Knights (this has been an annual pledge for some time now)
  5. Another Titan prior to end of year (not yet bought)

Thanks All! LH

Siph’s Hobby Goals and To-Do List 2022

Hello all, well I’m not one for New Year’s Resolutions as I never stick to them and I prefer a less than rigid “goal” to work towards… so last year I was away for the most part with work, however a backlog of completed miniatures kept the blog ticking over nicely and when back in the country I could add to these posts and keep it going once again. You wouldn’t have noticed (even if you were monitoring, lol).
Rather than a wall of text, some photos of last years gems.
I had a bit of a Necron push
Alas, this year I am called away again with work, but have less posts to rely on, so you will see a drop of on regular content - fear not Blogger, it’s not the winding up of another blog heading for instagrat/facespam… it’s just I’m busy away :)
So, goals - perhaps this year when able:
  • Reduce some mass from the to do pile… failed miserably and added more last year! Whether this means sell what I’m never going to get around to, or trickle a few projects through when able, we will try. I have a disgustingly large capitalist greed pile of shame - Siph’s to-do Mountain
  • Complete Lucius Warhound
  • Construct Warlord no.2 - note construct, not complete haha, record so far is 3.5yrs…
  • Get Lord TITANium Halfpenny to post more regularly once again, someone has to keep it up
  • Paint some Custodes
  • Attend Titan Owners Club Walks when able - highlight of last year.
So, there you have it, some simple goals. I’ll blog when I can and get that Halfpenny character turned-to!
Have a great 2022, and a safe year avoiding Nurgle’s pox once more!

Cheers, Siph

Update - New Hobby Space/Office

 Hello All!

I thought I'd post a couple of WIP pictures of the new Hobby Space, and how I've tried to maximise space and storage..

I've got a 4x4 ft games table supported on Besta units which are perfect for storing larger Titans. I am planning to add lights inside and under the units.

I've also added a 3rd Bookcase to add further space for models. 2 will be used for completed models, whilst the 3rd is next to my desk which will hold my WIP models.  This has also allowed me to add a little more space to the painting area.

Opposite the  paint area, I have my office space for my day job, The plan is to have a 3D printer set up as this is an aspect of the hobby as something I would really love to get into more!

I've then got 3 glass units to store further models, again these will have lights added.

Slowly getting there, but really happy with how the 'Weeman Den' is coming together! LH

2019 A Review - Lord Halfpenny

Wow, what a year. There were plenty of new additions to my growing forces. A highlight of the year was the addition of the Warlord 'Hell's Daughter' to my titan legion. What made it even better was that I set myself a very tight timescale, ready in time for the Titan Owners Club walk in the summer. I managed to get the Warlord done within 3 months. I had also completed a Warbringer in a similar time scale. Both I feel look great, and am really happy with the results.
Siph's and my Maniples - Crucius and Astorum
On a 40k front I made some progress with minimising the 'to-do-pile' however this seems to have grown again.. must work harder! I've added sisters of silence and some deathwatch to the Imperial forces I own.
For 2020 -

I am aiming to make a proper dent in the pile of plastic, there will be more Deathwatch stuff, and Adeptus Custodes. I am also looking to finally complete and finish all my Imperial Knights with transfers and banners to do. I am looking at the option for another Titan this year, with this potentially being a Reaver. we will see.
One of the year's highlights, the Titan Owners Club Walk UK
I also want to have more battles - this work thing gets in the way. There is a Titan Owners Club UK Walk planned again this year, and with a smaller demonstration in February.
Loads on - here's to a great 2020! Cheers, LH

WeeMen 2018 Hobby Goals - Not Resolutions, more like Guidance ;)

Following on from last year's Hobby Goals, I thought we'd share what direction we will be going this year... and firstly, how well we fared last year! We don't really do the Resolution type thing as that is usually the path to disappointment and the dark side. But, some hobby goals to focus our HBS (Hobby Butterfly Syndrome) can't hurt - how did I do?
I started 2017 with piles - blessed huge piles... not the painful Farmer Giles type - a serious plastic and resin krak habit... I am very fortunate to have, I know many hobbyists would love to be in this situation, but I think I had a good krak at some of it - and failing miserably at some too - I'm sure these Devastators moved from the table to the desk... and nobody mention the "New Year, New Army" fail with Tau....Jan 2016)
Some quick wins, Necron Deathmarks to join their part finished squad and a start on the Goliath Necromunda Gangers, and another alternative Sister of Battle. Basically clear up the hobby desk of part finished projects before starting new ones!
Now, this pile shrank only by one box - really must address the elephant in the room - or the Warlord Titan in the room! Yes, do I make 2018 the year for completing the Warlord - its only sat half done for near on 2 years.... oh dear.... send me the encouragement I need to brave the Airbrush on this beast!
Now for the positives - my goal was to krak on with the to-do pile, and avoid adding to the pile in size - I painted a Daemon Prince, a Thanatar, a LE Chaplain, an alternative SoB, four Scyllax, an RTB01 Tactical Squad for Squaduary; a Tesserach Ark, Ghost Ark, Triarch Stalker, 5 Lychguard, 5 Praetorians, Vargard Obeyron, 15 Warriors and 5 Destroyers and a Tomb Stalker for the Necrons, one Genestealer and a Sentinel, some Craters; Space Marine Banner Bearer, RTB01 Rhino and a Spartan for Spartember and a Deredeo for Dreadtober and an old school Landspeeder for the Relictors; one Emperors Scythe Primaris Marine, 3 Plague Toads, 2 Assassins, 5 Exo Armoured Squats and finally 3 Ursarax... and had blogger buddy Nick Thrower paint some of my Daemons too!

That's not bad, shows my HBS, and totals just shy of 200 painting points! And did I achieve my goal - well I bought/received Necromunda and Dark Imperium, the Tesserach Ark (painted) and some Primaris - so goal achieved, the to-do pile is slightly smaller :)

Next year - Siph I aim to continue driving down my to-do pile, the stuff pictured above (especially the stuff on the gaming table!) and maybe take forward more progress on the Warlord! Plus get some battles in!

Lord Halfpenny achieved posting on the blog more regularly (four posts in 2016 compared to a good 50+ in 2017) and progressed the FW Reaver Titan he bought on first release, This year saw the completion of several other kits including Magnus the Red, Skarbrand, another bloodthirster and of course, Gulliman. Also repainted were Calgar, Cassius, Sicarius and Calgar's Honour Squad. The Techmarine of a jetbike was completed too - just waiting for a single 'U' transfer to be added. A quick tally up and around 115 painting points. Not bad, he'll be looking to use the tally next year as he goes.

Favourite part of the year - Completing Magnus the Red, as it was a big project and he was really happy with the result. Starting the Reaver and really getting a good way though the build/painting. And lastly, the addition of Gulliman to the force- seeing him in action vs my Necrons at Warhammer World was amazing, and of course the Guilliman Gauntlet!

Not completed was the plan to re-base his Ultramarines to new 32mm bases; finish off his vehicle using transfers or finish 2nd Company Ultramarines, however after the addition of the Primaris marines LH now has more possibilities with squad numbers etc. (Maybe he knew how the year would play out), failed to complete some Terrain; still to finish his Imperial Knights and we both failed miserably to have more actual Battles! Arrgh....

Next Year for Lord Halfpenny is to attack my Ultramarines, aiming to have them all re based, and transferred up. Also there is a load of Primaris stuff to start and Deathwatch - although this will wait until the codex is released. The Imperial Knight Banner army will be completed in 2018 with new LED fixtures and transfers. And the final project is to complete the Reaver Titan. Lord Halfpenny told me "2018 is the year of Space Marines!" whatever he meant by that!?

6thDegree had more modest goals, start painting again, get his mojo back; and if that happens paint the Decimator; Perturabo; his 2nd Warhound Titan; some 30k Characters and an Alien 1:1 scale Face Hugger - he didn't find his mojo, did paint the Face Hugger for MonsterMarch but sparks of interest once again fly with Necromunda peeking his interest! Come back to us mate!

What are your hobby goals? Let us know in the comments if you didn't already. Its good to be in all-of-one-company :)

Cheers, and have a great Hobby Year! Siph.
