Legio Astorum - Reaver Titan No. 3516 - Head and Internals

Hello Titanseers and all, thanks for dropping by, more progress with one of the two Reavers, as this one metallics are already done to a good standard it's the one progressing faster. The Head usually takes a while as it is where all the small details and crew are which take significantly more time to paint than the standard panels.

Sensor lenses painted

Comfortable seating for the Moderati with head cushion dampeners behind where their helmets are. Sensorium and gubbins, I added some terrain mapping to main view screen

The poor unfortunate soul incarcerated as the carapace Weapon Servitor

And internal racks show the two arm Weapon Servitors too.

And head sensor plexiglass lenses fitted before Rites of Colour commence

Legio Astorum distinctive yellows done, which is a base of wraithbone, followed by AP Demonic Yellow, then edge shading of DRPA Skulker Yellow and two glazes of FW Sigsmund Clear Yellow to give that deep rich glaze.

Legio Astorum - Reaver Titan No. 3516 - Another Acquisition

Hello Titanseers,

After last week's introduction to Reaver 009, in tandem I managed to secure a second-hand Reaver Titan in great shape from a mate. Seen here in original Legio Defensor livery, the kneecap has been re-painted to show the combined loyal service of this Engine now undergoing re-dedication to Legio Astorum.

Undergoing the Rites of re-construction and re-dedication, but a awesome walking pose from TOC Member Andy B. means this God Engine really suits close combat weapons, already armed with a 3D printed Reaver Chainfist and a carapace Vulcan Mega Bolter - such a swagger! (Forge World Chainfist is long out of production, and carapace VMB haven't been made in 28mm scale!)

This one will follow the footsteps of Honorum and Astor Tyrannis, also from Siege of Vraks Imperial Armour books, this will be Incaeduus Prime - with blue/yellow stripes moved to the carapace as the knee is honouring Andy's work with Defensor (I often honour the previous owner's machine spirit with preserving some of the original scheme - Atarus with Warlord Ex-Noctia, airbrush work with Warhound Canis Irae and carapace stripes of Warhound Lupus Regent)

I have already started some weapon options, a Melta Cannon

And a second one for the Reaver No.009 to match

And the carapace with scrollwork is done, courtesy of the Legio Astorum FW decal sheet

Next comes the armour plates and superstructure, mostly done to a great standard on the metallics so this one should progress quickly compared to Reaver No.009, meaning the Corsair Maniple of four Reaver Titans will be realised. My favourite Forge World Titan Engine Class, about time I had more Reavers!

Legio Astorum - Reaver Titan No. 009 - New Acquisition

Hello Titanseers, May the Fourth be with you ;)

Thanks for dropping by. I came across for sale, after a recommendation from a buddy, an ancient relic Titan, Brother Engine of "Honorum" Reaver No.10, and Lord TITANium's Reaver No.11, this new acquisition is Reaver Titan No. 009! So, I thought I'd put in a bid and it was enroute a journey north so I was able to pick it up in person and give it a once over and talk to the seller, lovely chap - once I told the story of Reaver 10 and 11, I think he was glad to part with it to me and knew it was going to have a good life battling in Titan Owners Club Titan Walks! A fresh lease of hobby life! Seen above disassembled for re-posing, re-arming and repainting. Magnets in the shoulders to enable swapping out between Close Combat weapons (Fist or Chainfist) and ranged weapons.

I will be painting this in the scheme of a Brother Engine of "Honorum" from the Siege of Vraks Part Two book from Forge World, the Astorum Battlegroup of Reavers and Warhounds included "Honorum" and "Astor Tyrannis", this will mean flame stencil work like the previous Reaver "Aquila Occulus" and some chequered shoulder plates. It will be interesting how this matches against blogger buddy Zzzzzz at DevosIV Blog is going to have his same "Astor Tyrannis" scheme too, commissioned by my mate Eyecon74 (over at IG).

I basecoated the blue field and edged Night Lords blue in recess as I always do for blue panels. I started the chequered work using a plain sheet of vinyl stencil cut into 1cm squares. 

Then sprayed Demonic Yellow from Army Painter

Then removed the vinyl patchwork, and need to tidy up the overspray and seepage

Here is the first coat of gold trim applied and chequers tidied up on the lower shoulder plate. A coat of Skulker Yellow from DRPA paints was applied to the yellow and a glaze of Sigsmund Yellow Clear to give my distinctive Astorum Yellow. One more glaze is required and another Gold trim edge coat.

And another coat of gold to smooth it and Reikland Fleshshade wash. Then some detailing on the metal work and the shoulders are done.

A lot of work, but I hope to have this and another Reaver Engine come together, one built and requiring repaint from it's Defensor scheme to another Brother Engine of "Honorum", in the scheme of "Acaeduus Prime" also of Vraks fame, and this one - work in conjunction towards a Corsair Maniple I can use at Titan Walks! Reaver Titans are my favourite class of Battle Engine - it's about time I had a few more ;)

Terrain and Scenery - Warlord head - done

Hello one and all,

A quick post - this weeks offering is a downed Warlord head terrain piece, that I recently printed - this is the quickest 'print to done' ever! I've painted it as a neutral white head, however its potentially from a Mortis titan, felled in battle.. there is also a dead ultramarine around the base.
