Hello All, thanks for dropping by. The latest offering to the Dark Gods is a squad of Slaaneshi Daemonettes. I painted these using Contrast Paints and normal layer paints, and a tutorial can be found here Painting Daemonettes.
A rather striking mix of heady purples and bright shocking pinks, and a few golds - very excess, very Slaanesh.
Daemonettes are Slaanesh's Lesser Daemons and the most numerous of all his servants. Possessed of the hypnotic glamour for which all Daemons of Slaanesh are abhorred, they are vicious, merciless fighters who attack with astounding speed and grace - according to GW. Well on the battlefield they do have quite a punch, its just getting them into combat is the kicker - they melt under Bolter fire.
I've included an Instrument of Chaos and an Icon of Chaos so when mixed with my existing squad of 10 to make an indecent blob of 20 - they will get across the table and reap a nice tally. Well, that's the plan...
Cheers, Siph (10pts)

Tutorial - How to paint Chaos Daemons - Daemonettes of Slaanesh
Hi all, thanks for dropping by. I was experimenting with some Contrast Paints and my next squad of Daemonettes of Slaanesh and had such a great result really easily I thought I'd do it again but share the step by step. My Daemonettes have darker skins than the box art for which there are many tutorials, but I like my alluring daemon sirens to be darker and match somewhat the previous squad 30Kplus40K Rob painted for me HERE.
I'm no Golden Demon artist, however this tutorial will give you a more than decent tabletop standard. The paints you will need are:
Daemonette Hide - Base
Magos Purple - Contrast
Shyish Purple - Contrast
Abaddon Black - Base
Eshin Grey - Layer
Dawnstone (Codex Grey) - Layer
Leadbelcher - Base
Nuln Oil - Shade
Retributor Gold - Base
Reikland Fleshshade - Shade
Screamer Pink - Base (or a hair colour of your choice)
Pink Horror - Layer (or a highlight of your choice)
Daemonette Hide over all the flesh and claw areas
Magos Purple all over the skin, claw and reptilian areas
When previous area is completely dry, use a small drybrush to highlight the smooth skin areas, leaving Magos Purple in the recessed areas, do the face at this stage catching the raised areas
The reptilian skin, lower legs and claws are given a coat of Shyish Purple, then removing the paint from the brush, feather the edges of these darker parts into the smooth skin areas next to them so you don't leave a straight line separation.
I love the effect this darker purple gives over the large hooked claw talon above, this is the main selling point for contrast paints, they give a natural highlight and shade, especially effective on organic type miniatures like Daemons.
Go over the leather, cloth and horn/claw areas with Abaddon Black. Also using a fine brush, add the eyes, black pupil-less eyes.
Highlight the leather, cloth and horn/spike/toe claw uppermost surfaces
Add a finer highlight to the leather, horn/toe claw and cloth areas, leaving some of the Eshin Grey visible. Also pick out any teeth at this stage if they are showing the fangs.
Any Armour plates and Corset trim and metal areas with Leadbelcher
Wash the metal areas with Nuln Oil
Use Retributor Gold for any ornaments or earrings and when dry wash the recess parts of the gold with Reikland Fleshshade.
Top off the model doing the hair with the colour of your choice, I'm using Screamer Pink.
Finally, base to match the rest of your army. A quite quick and effective scheme, I was pleasantly surprised with the result and the speediness, I hope someone finds this useful.
Cheers, Siph.

Chaos Daemons - Slaanesh 40k Additions
Hi One and All,
Another week, another post. This week I'm posting my completed Slaanesh units, 3 squads of 10 daemonettes, 5 Seekers of Slaanesh and 3 fiends.
Daemonettes
The 30 Daemonettes were all repainted- having purchased these from that well known auction site. I started by using a base coat of Zandri Dust, and then painted the silver detail with Runefang. The hair was picked out with an old pot of Warlock purple. The entire model was then washed with druchii violet, a simple but effect scheme. The banner was painted with a base of purple, and the slaanesh symbol painted with a light blue to stand out.
Fiends
These 3 again were purchased off 'that site'. To finish these I completed the bases as per the other units.
Seekers
These 5 models and steads were painted the same as the Daemonettes, again happy with the look of these - looking different to the 'normal' but very Slaanesh still..
Here are a few pictures of the new units on the battle board,
The daemon force is slowly coming together, thanks for looking!
Cheers, Lord Halfpenny

Chaos Daemonettes Commission by Rob at 30Kplus40K
Hello, as some who frequent this blog may know, I have a rather large To-Do pile, a great place to be no doubt, more minis than I have time for doing myself is not a complaint! So, what could I do? I work hard, earn a decent crust so why not help a fellow blogger expand their skill set and get something done on my To-Do pile at the same time!
Rob at 30Kplus40K messaged me a long while ago reference experimenting with possible commission work, I didn't check Google mail for ages (Soz Rob!) and when I replied, I said I'd be interested in getting some Daemons done and as it was Rob's first commission, I'd seen his own work, so gave him free reign in how they were painted. I specified that i'll do the bases to match my own and that I like the 'traditional' Daemonettes scheme.
Rob did an excellent job, kept me informed throughout and was a great price, one we were pretty unsure about as it was his first commission and I thought they were worth more! We came to a favourable price between us.
Has Rob started down the road of Commission painting for a job, or as a side project to fund his awesome Solar Auxilla force budget - who knows? But if you are interested in getting a UK based genius to do some of your To-Do pile for you, feel free to check out his blog and contact him through Google+.
I'm just finishing the bases of the 'Pink' Horrors he did for me too! You may have seen them on his blog, Tzeentch works in bright assorted colours indeed! Love them!
