Commissar Yarrick and Commissar who? - Done

Hello one and All!
Another week, sees an offering of 2 Commissars to the force, first up, Yarrick!

This was a model I had to add to my Voystron First Born, which was bought before 10th... Commissar Yarrick, what did they do!
He has the similar base to my other Voystron First Born's - this had a base coat as a comms piece, and then I went back to add details to link to the force - really happy with the results!

Next up... Yarrick??
.....turn around....
AAARRRGGGHHHHHHH!
Nurgle Commissar will get you! This is a model I printed, and then painted.. is it Yarrick?!?!

Chaos Daemons - Daemons of Nurgle - Nurglings

Hello Readers, thanks for dropping by. I am deployed again so have a few scheduled posts to keep you entertained and the blog ticking over. I have a few more reinforcements to Nurgle on the heels of the Great Unclean One, some characterful Nurglings.
These are great objective holders and resilient but I like their playful cartoon like appearance.
I have a rather nuted palette on these ones compared to the previous three bases, seen here
These are stock miniatures straight from the pack, no additions like the previous lot with added extra Nurglings.
A random green skinned one breaks up the same palette and a few goo puddles have been added to the bases.
Here they are added to the previous Nurglings, similar but different enough to differentiate if needed.

Great Unclean One - Glottkin converstion

Hello, One and All,

I've started working on models that have been sat on my bench for a while, with the unit of Pink Horrors, Greyfax and Sisters of Silence all completed recently. Another model done as another Great Unclean One, this time using the Glottkin model as a base.

I've added Nurglings around the model, and also added a 40k themed base to try to move the model from the AoS version.

The model was painted in a similar style to my other GUO, with a base of Death Guard green, which is then washed with several coats to add depth. The model had details picked out with yellow for the boils, and different hues of red for the cuts/scars holes littered across its body. The tentacles have been painted in deep purples, again to match with the other GUO's, with the end of each arm painted similar with purples colours. The whole model had washes with Nurgle Rot and Typhus Corrosion to add that 'Nurgle' touch.

I am really happy with the look of the model, and will look forward to seeing him on the dancefloor of war!

Chaos Daemons - Daemons of Nurgle - 40k Additions

Hi All,

So the final 'Daemons Additions' for now, showing my completed additions to the Dameon army in the form of Nurgle units.

Great Unclean One

For this model I opted for the fail/sword combo. The model was based with Death Guard green, with dark angel green added to the parts that would be in shadows, then a highlight of an old goblin green colour, followed  with a wash with green/agrax to build up the colour. The boils were picked out with a deep yellow, and all the open wounds were painted similar to sights I've seen in operating theatres, with the opening of the wound having red outer colour, with a deep yellow for the 'fat'. The deeper recesses of the wounds were painted with a richer red, and had blood for the blood god added to add a shine to it. The intestines were painted purple to stand out. I then added Nurgle Rot into folds, and over certain parts of the model to add further details to the model.
Rotigus

Rotigus was painted similarly to the Great Unclean One, however this was over a Zandri Dust base to alter the hue of the model. The tentacles were painted going from purple to a pink tip. I also added some bright green to the 'force rod' to try to make the rod pop.
Scabeiathrax the Bloated

Again I kept a similar scheme to the first GUO to keep the units looking like a force, I swapped the washes around so that the green went over the Agrax. The sword details were picked out with A rust dry brush which was strippled onto the sword to mimic rust. Typhus Corrosion was also added to add further detail to the sword.

Cor'bax Utterbright

For the Cor'bax model I moved away from Greens to make the model stand out, using a Zandri dust base, washed up with Agrax. The tentacles were painted to match the tongue in a deep purple to match the other units. Plenty of Nurgle Rot was used on this model!
Mamon Transfigured

I redid the initial scheme over Mamon to fit with the other models, further washes of Green and Agrax was added, as well as Nurgle Rot. The wounds were also picked out like the GUO.

Nurglings

9 Bases of Nurglings, all painted as per the Great Unclean one, with details added to stand out such as the wounds, tongues and eyes. I really like the overall look of all 9 together, that they all tie in, but also would look good as a single model.
Giant Chaos Spawn

This conversation used the 'watcher from the Deep' model (Which I loved the moment I saw it) as a Giant Spawn, pulling its weight over a down Imperial Knight, (Which might be of a similar colour to Siph's..) The model again was painted a similar scheme as the GUO, with the knight painted Blue, with plenty of browns around the edge to represent mud and dirt.

Hope you like the Disgustingly Resilient amounts of Nurgle reinforcements...

Chaos Daemons - Nurglings of Nurgle!

Hello Readers, thanks for dropping in and having a look-see. My latest offering was a small distraction job, a set of Nurgle Nurglings I bought on a whim to add to my growing Daemon force. I really like these characterful cheeky little b&st&rds!
A rather in Nurgle taste shot of their backsides... The bases come in three interchangeable rows of Nurglings, I used Zandri Dust or Corax White as a basecoat before washing with Agrax. I picked a few Nurglings out with Deathguard Green and washed with Biel Tan Green wash.
I picked out the horns with Ushabti Bone and washed Sepia. Guts with Screamer Pink and Pink Horror I think. I added Blood for the Blood God after matt spray sealing, and then added Nurgles Rot too - both kept their gloss wet shine. I also added some 'Ardcoat over the guts and tongues.
This base I added one of the individual Nurglings that come with the kit, atop the others. The kit is very customisable, no two bases of Nurglings should ever look the same.
This base had a pair of piggyback Nurglings front and centre. Not sure the one pulling out his entrails and licking them is right in the head...
And here they are in the Battlefield, thanks for dropping by,
Cheers, Siph. (6 painting points)

WIP Great Unclean One, Custodes Captain-General Trajann Valoris

Hello one and All,

following on from 'those' pictures, I thought I'd get my head down into the hobby.. so, this week I've started work on 2 projects, another Great Unclean One, and Trajann Valoris.

Great Unclean One,

This model is based on the Glotkin model, however I've added nurglings to the shoulder/back rather than the 2 'brothers' . I could see this model as 'Gu'garth the Plaguefather' from previous Daemon codices. The story was Gu'garth was a nurgling who fell into a potion and was mutated into a Great Unclean One, thus I wanted the model to look completely different to the other Great Unclean Ones- and I feel this is the perfect model.

Trajann Valoris
Stead progress with Valoris, with him having  a similar scheme to the previous custodes in my force.
Hopefully these will be completed soon to add to the growing ranks of forces!

Cheers
