Mechanicum - Mrymidon Destructors w/ Irradiation Engines #2

Hello Tech Adepts, thanks for dropping by. The latest addition to the Mechanicum Taghmata is another squad of Mrymidon Destructors, the heavy infantry, each a Tech Magos fully adapted for war. I thought I'd get these done before the plastic new sculpts drop - I think I prefer these weapons to the newer single 'barrel' versions.
The Myrmidon Destructors are priests of the Mechanicum who specialise in the art of destruction with ranged weaponry and the embodiment of this within their own vastly augmented bodies.
These are all armed with Irradiation Engines, a 'torrent' flamer template radiation weapon which auto hits and wounds on 2+, and reduces target toughness by 1 due to the heavy doses of radiation.
These were bought secondhand and rebased and re-branded Mars loyalist Mechanicum! Previous squad were also Dark Mechanicum repainted Mars but with blue robes seen HERE.
These are akin to the Mechanicum version of Terminators, strong armour, fairly slow and dish out short range punishment. I have another few squads of these with other weapon options, hopefully there will still be rules for them by the time I actually get a game with them.

Mechanicum - Ursarax Tech Thralls #3

Hi all, thanks for dropping by. Again this week I have more Mechanicum goodness, another six Ursarax Thralls to add to my existing six I have already to I painted these to match.
The Ursarax are heavy, rapid-moving close combat killing machines. Like the Thallax, Ursarax are thralls rather than servitors – selected from suitable human candidates for conversion. Their living components retain a consciousness and dim recollection of their former humanity, providing them with superior tactical abilities and the instinct to kill.
These are FW resin versions and the previous owner had shaved the heads smooth on the front facing so I had to paint back on the visor.
And here are all the Ursarax to date, leaping death robots!

Mechanicum - Magos Dominus

Hello All, thanks for dropping by. My growing Mechanicum Taghmata have a new HQ choice, a Magos Dominus from Forge World, now OOP, but can be a Techpriest, Magos or ArchMagos.
It is armed with a Rad Cleanser heavy weapon and a huge heavy Servo-Arm and his fragile body is carried upon an Abeyant
I chose to keep the cloth blue to match the Myrmidons I already have, but the carapace/head cowling thing was painted in Mars colours to show it's allegiance to Mars, under which it stows many Servo Skulls.
I love this Geiger-esque silhouette, reminds me of Aliens Xenomorphs.

Mechanicum / Adeptus Mechanicus - Secutarii Axiarch

Hello Titanseers and all, thanks for dropping by. The recent released Forge World characters peeked my interest when there was a character to lead my Mechanicum Secutarii forces, a Secutarii Axiarch.
He/It is armed with an Arc Lance and Mag-Inverter shield and sheltered by a harmonic Kyropatris Field Generator. The mini also has a pistol so not sure what rules that will have.
The Arc Lance was a 12in, S6, Assault 1, AP-1, Dmg1 weapon, but when damaging vehicles is D3 damage. In melee it is also S+3, so S6, AP-1, Dmg1 and against vehicles D3 damage. The Kyropatris Field Generators so have a 5++. Where the Shield comes into force is in melee, it gives a 4++ against melee weapons and if an unmodified save from a melee weapon hit is a six - that inflicts a mortal wound on the attacking unit after the attacks have been resolved - back in your face! I hope this made it into Legends for 40K rules not just 30K, regardless, it's a cool mini I had to have to lead my 50 Hoplites and 50 Peltasts.
Legio Astorum sigil on his cloak to mark his devotion.
And protecting his charge, a Warhound Titan, from infantry attacks.

Mechanicum - Thallax Cohort #3 w/ Phased Plasma Fusil

Hello Readers, thanks for dropping by. The latest additions to the Mechanicum Taghmata is a squad of Thallax, a Thallax Cohort. These can be in squads of three or up to nine. They are armed with Lightning Guns which are heavy 3 Shred and two modes Arc and Strike (single shot mode but additional +3 strength and Rending) and one has a Phased Plasma-Fusil.
The Phased Plasma-Fusil is for dealing with heavy armoured troops.
There are two Lightning Gun armed automata
And here are the entire Cohort so far, three squads each with a heavy weapon and all can deep strike in and have jet pack for rapid movement.

Mechanicum - Thallax Cohort #2 w/ Multi-Melta

Hello Readers, thanks for dropping by. The latest additions to the Mechanicum Taghmata is a squad of Thallax, a Thallax Cohort. These can be in squads of three or up to nine. They are armed with Lightning Guns which are heavy 3 Shred and two modes Arc and Strike (single shot mode but additional +3 strength and Rending) and one has a tank-busting Multi-Melta.
These are the plastic boxset, very highly detailed and more fiddly than the resin counterparts but equally as detailed which is great. This one has a Multi-Melta for some deep-strike tank-busting action.
And the last two have the standard armament of Lightning Guns.

Mechanicum - Thallax Cohort #1 w/ Photon Thruster

Hello Readers, thanks for dropping by. The latest additions to the Mechanicum Taghmata is a squad of Thallax, a Thallax Cohort. These can be in squads of three or up to nine. They are armed with Lightning Guns which are heavy 3 Shred and two modes Arc and Strike (single shot mode but additional +3 strength and Rending) and one has a Photon Thruster (AP2, Assault 2, Blind, Lance, Gets Hot) weapon. As the Thallax are Relentless the Heavy mode of weapons are not an issue.
The hulking, heavily augmented cyborg shocktroops originating within the Ordo Reductor faction of the Mechanicum, the Thallax differ from the Martian Skitarii regiments both in their purpose and the unique degree of their augmetics. The Lorica Thallax which encases their major organs, nervous system and cerebrum also replaces the skeleton and limbs entirely with armoured mechanical systems powered by an internal reactor core.
The agony of this process, along with the replacement of the usual human sensory apparatus, proves so traumatic as to require the surgical excision of the pain centres and emotions. The Thallax, however, retains a degree of independent human thought; this individuality and self-determination is greater by far than that enjoyed by tech-thralls, whose cranial-surgery implants are often crude at best, damaging as much as they control.
These are the Forge World resin variety to which i removed the Chain Bayonets, and I have a box of six plastic Thallax to get on with too. This gives me a choice of smaller troop choice Automata for the Tahgmata.

Mechanicum - Ursarax Tech Thralls #2

Hello Readers, thanks for dropping by. GW says "Ursarax tech-thralls are formidable, even monstrous, killing engines. Like the Thallaxii from which they were derived, these war-cyborgs are converted from suitable human candidates, their living components retaining a dim, tortured consciousness that provides them with superior tactical abilities and the instincts to kill. Jetting into close combat, the Ursaraxii tear apart steel and flesh alike, seeking the temporary relief of the automated neural anaesthesia that is administered for fulfilling their orders."
This is the second squad of these I have, the first painted in 2017 so these were painted to match, updating the former squad groin, thigh armour plates which I had missed. Plus jump pack vent exhausts and turbine glow.
The nice Volkite Incinerator built in the chest was picked out with a fiery orange glow
These all have Lightning Claws and pair up nicely with the first three armed with Power Fists and a Claw. Six in a squad will be a lot more survivable now and form a nice fast attack choice.

Mechanicum - Mrymidon Destructors w/ Irradiation Engines

These again were re-painted from Malinax Forge World force I bought from a mate, and re-branded Mars loyalist Mechanicum!

These are akin to the Mechanicum version of Terminators, strong armour, fairly slow and dish out short range punishment. I think i'll either need more or a transport for them. Just so happens I have a Macrocarid Explorator somewhere in the to-do pile...

Mechanicum - Vultarax Stratos Automata

Welcome Engineseers and Readers All, thanks for dropping by. The newest addition to my growing Mechanicum Taghmata 30K forces is a non-plague drone, a Vultarax Stratos Automata. The origins of the Nurgle Plague Drones are clear to see. A marvelous reverse engineering by the Forge World designers to give us the original non-corrupt drone.
The most common form of stratos-automata in widespread use by the Mechanicum Taghmata, the Vultarax is a robust, multi-role war engine drawn from ancient pre-Imperial STC designs. Heavily armed, fitted with sophisticated sensory gear, and able to operate in diverse and hostile environments, it serves as a keystone of Explorator expeditionary forces – both as an armed, high-mobility scout, and as a rapid response unit in open battle.
This was bought second hand from a Titan Owners Club mate Luke who had an extensive Malinax Mechanicum force which I am slowly re-dedicating back to the Golden Throne and true Omnissiah! But I felt the original creams of the scheme could be preserved in an insect like striped pattern.
I added a few details and recoloured some lenses and cables to suit my own forces but the heavy work had been done by Luke.
I also weathered the decals I added to match somewhat the worn and dirty panels of cream. I think the reds were later applied or fare better in the weather of whichever planet these operate on, hence the less weathered reds.
So insect like, so Plague drone-y...
Thanks for dropping in. A nice addition to the Mechanicum Taghmata.
