Relictors Thunderfire Cannon #3 and Full Battery

Hello Readers, thanks for dropping by. My latest offering to Our Liege Duncan is a third Thunderfire Cannon and Techmarine Gunner. This one converted from the Forge World Legion Vexilla - an odd sculpt, not fitting in the rest of the range and benefitted from being made into a unique Techmarine Gunner I think.
The Cannon itself matches the other two exactly, with the numeral identification the only really difference. Unlike number two, this is once again a metal model.
And the Techmarine Gunner using the Vexilla Torso and Legs, I've used an Ad Mech Datasmith Head and the Thunderfire Techmarine Harness and Arms.
I reversed the colours with this one for variety, grey Relictor armour with red Techmarine Arms and Servo Harness.
A fine looking Techmarine Gunner, and also useful on the battlefield even when the cannon is destrpyed, a Plasma Cutter and Flamer plus Servo Harness makes him a decent Character.
Here are the three Gunners together. A unique bunch - just as the Machine God wants.
And the Battery
All together the firepower will upset someones day! Thanks for dropping by, Cheers, Siph.

Relictors - Thunderfire Cannon and Techmarine Gunner #2

Hello Readers, thanks for having a look-see. This is my latest addition to the ever growing Relictors Battle Company arsenal, another Thunderfire Cannon and Techmarine Gunner. The first was a metal kit done as the box instructs (HERE), but for variation between Gunners, this kit I chose something different.
The cannon was a Finecast version bought secondhand and then painted to match the first exactly, the console is in the wrong place, however it was stuck there by the previous owner and looks fine, so it stayed.  The finecast kit was nowhere near as straight or solid as the metal kit and lacks the nice weight the metal kit provides, but once painted you have to look carefully to see. I now snatch this one from the tabletop expecting a heavier weight! lol.
The Gunner is a mix of parts, FW Iron Hands Medusan Immortal body, a Techmarine Auspex arm, a Onager Dunecrawler bionic 'arm' and a Pauldron from a SM Vehicle sprue, a BatC Plasma Pistol 'cutter', an old metal Techmarine backpack and 'Flamer' pincer plus a ammo hoist arm from the original Techmarine Gunner set holding a Thunderfire Shell.
I cut the Mechandrites from the original backpack, inserted the Thunderfire arm and then reattached at a steeper angle to look more natural. Here you can also see the cut down Plasma Pistol as a counts-as Plasma Cutter on the end of the rather fitting Ad Mech Onager Dunecrawler arm.
The older Techmarine Backpack fits in seamlessly. I love that this Medusan Immortal has a Bionic Leg.
I also painted the right hand holding the Auspex/Targeter as a Bionic Hand, this Gunner is close to the Machine God!
And here is the Thunderfire Battery as it stands, shame in 8th these are separate Heavy Slots now, but the Tremor Shells Strategm is useful to slow fast dangerous enemy units and the Thunderfire is a great multiple shot weapon.
Lastly, I added numeral indicators to the guns so I know and the enemy knows what one is what. Thanks for looking, hopefully I gave you some potential ideas for a Techmarine conversion and cheers for dropping by. Thanks, Siph. (5pts for Vehicle rather than 10 painting points for a Character)

Relictors Thunderfire Techmarine

Here he is finally finished, I must say what a pain this guy was - not to construct, that is self explanatory, but to paint - he is made of a billion pieces! It just went on and on. The Thunderfire Cannon was a piece of cake compared, but all said and done - I love this miniature, his pose is spot on and the actual sculpt is awesome.
His Servo Harness may need pinning in the future as I can see some rough handling or gaming in the future may see those arms being pulled off. I've enjoyed doing a different colour for once, this nice AdMech red was simply Scab Red over a White undercoat, with Blood Red and Blazing Orange highlights. The plasma coils were Mordian Blue, Regal Blue, Enchanted Blue and Skull White blend. I kept the cabling between his legs simple to avoid over complicating the colour scheme on what is a very 'busy' model.
The main parts of the Servo Arms are drybrushed BoltGun Metal however I have used Brazen Brass, Shining Gold, Mithril Silver and Tin Bitz to add variety on gears or pistons or joints. The left shoulder pad is the Relictors Chapter Badge and as such I have left the rim Grey, rather than Black like the rest of my 5th Company and the AdMech shoulder pad has a grey rim also to tie it in, it also helps link the grey arms to the rest of the red torso. I wanted some grey on him, but he loosely follows the Index Astartes colour scheme for Techmarines.

I've also varied the shells - they have a Brazen Brass washed in Devlan Mud cartridge like the Vindicator shells, but the 4 in the Servo Arm are red tipped and the single one in the left Servo Arm is Black/White tipped... Airburst, Surface or Subterranean...

And the final shot is him and his trusty Cannon. I hope you like. (2 Painting Points btw) Bigger pics in the 'Finished Relictors' gallery>>>>>>

Relictors Thunderfire Cannon

Just a quick post to see the progress of my latest edition to my Relictors Space Marine Army, a Thunderfire Cannon. I've just got to do the Techmarine now, which is actually more of a job than the cannon itself. I'm going with a standard Codex colour scheme for the Techmarine, mainly red uniform with a Chapter shoulder pad.

The lenses on the cannon have been 'Ardcoated so they look glassy. The cannon itself is simple to do, mainly drybrushing metals with a few varied colours to add detail. The construction itself is pretty straight forward once cleaned up, except the breech block - that required several attempts after heavy filing to fit without forcing the cannon barrel apart.

Now, do I base it like Zen 40,000 has over at his blog here or leave as is? Comments welcome... (2 painting points btw)
