Beachhead 2020 - Bournemouth BIC Titan Walk. (Picture Heavy)

Hello one and All,

Last weekend saw the annual event - Beachhead 2020 at the Bournemouth International Centre. At this event there were loads of stores, demonstration games and tournaments. One of the demonstration games was the Titan Owners Club, with 6 Princeps fighting with their 28mm titans using the Adeptus Titanicus rules (AT28).

Here are images from the event that saw Legio Astorum, Legio Crucius and Knights of House Bordeaux against the forces of Legio Mortis and Legio Solaria as well as some Vassal Knight Banners.

TOC's newest member bought along several Banners of Knights and soaked up a lot of enemy firepower!

Seeing your Warlord explode due to a friendly explosion is a tough pill to swallow...

The pain is less when the opposing team aren't mocking your poor fortune..

The Titan Owners Club with the Plaque for Best in Show, and the Best Demonstration trophy.

The battle saw loads of action, with 3 out of 4 Warlords exploding in glorious death, Dominius Victoria of the Legio Astorum detonated in the shockwave after the Crucius Warhound Black Strider was destroyed. The Crucius Warbringer Mons Igneus took the killing blows on both Unius Exercitus of Solaris and Bone Garland of Mortis.

The Titan Owners Club was very blessed to be awarded the Bill Thurlow Memorial Plaque for Best in Show, and Best Demonstration Game 2020 Trophy! Great going team!

Relictors Devastators w/ Heavy Bolters - Squaduary Week 2

Hello fellow Bloggers or Squaduary Squad, only a little progress this week, but some progress all the same, got carried away with one trooper and failed to keep to one stage at a time. Nevermind :) Got the basing material down and sealed so that was something.

So this guy will be done a little before the others, or I carry on with the others playing catch-up... the Hobby Butterfly will guide me...

Squaduary is a hobby event run through February and is run by Stepping Between Games blog, Thousand Eyes plows through the interwebz and Instagram for the Squaduary pledges and pools them together.

Hopefully some more progress next week, can't fall behind!

Adeptus Custodes - Telemon Heavy Dreadnought

Hello, thanks for dropping by. I have started to add some units to my fledgling Custodes Army, consisting of just 5 Exo-Armoured Squats (counts-as Custodian Guardians with Spears) at the moment, but plenty of Custodes plastics in the to-do pile and I love the look of Allarus Terminators and Dawneagle Jet Bikes so I will be getting some eventually. I also have Ixion Hale from FW who will make a great Shield Captain with Castellan Axe.

So, yes... A HUGE Dreadnought to start, a Telemon Heavy Dreadnought armed with two Arachnus Storm Cannons and a Spiculus Bolt Launcher, essentially two rapid firing Plasma Guns (Heavy 6 S7 -2AP or Beam Heavy 2 S8 -4AP) and re-rolling wounds against vehicles. The Bolt Launcher is just an anti infantry but fires twice in overwatch for 10 shots!

I love the look of the rotating barrel "plasma/lascannon" Arachnus Storm Cannon. Putting out 12 S7 shots is great damage potential against the toughest vehicles especially with the re-roll for wound. But this does come with a price, albeit a lot cheaper now than it was! (circa 280ish rather than 340!)

I've weathered the barrels with heat staining using blue/purple/sepia washes and a drybrush of Chaos Black at the muzzle. The gold is Retributor washed Reikland and drybrushed Auric Armour and the chest Aquila has a blue glaze over Ulthuan Grey.

I used a decal from the FW Custodes Transfers sheet, I think it looks superb.

And for the size comparison next to my relic Contemptor Mortis Dreadnought, this is when you realise the thing is huge, Armiger Warglaive sized rather than a Dreadnought!

The height on the base is used cork board covered with usual sand and PVA and some slate chips from the garden.

Just as an addition to the Custodes force, I added some more additional firepower to the Imperial Knight Errant Freeblade in Custodes colours, a Stormspear Rocket Pod for the carapace.

Crucius Titan Update - WIP Weapons and Kill Markings

Hello One and All,

A quick WIP titan post for an update.

Firstly, I have added honours and kill markings to my Titans from the Titan Owners Club UK Walk at Milton Keynes last year. I've used the transfers from the FW sheet. I will be having honours like this for any Titan kill during Titan Walks.

Secondly, I've also virtually finished the Belicosa Volcano Cannon for my Warlord 'Hell's Daughter', which I wanted to get finished for this weekends Beachhead 2020 Titan Walk.. pictures next week...

I am also working on a project with my Reaver - going back to the old Epic 'Dreadfire' Reaver Support Titan - with 3 Apocalypse Missile Launchers. I wasn't sure initially but its growing on me now I have added some colour to them!

Its that time of year - Squaduary 2020 - Relictors Devastators w/ Heavy Bolters

So, my calendar year has two hobby community highlights I partake in, October "Dreadtober" and February's "Squaduary" - and its February so it's time I grabbed something that has been sitting around on the painting desk for all too long and got it finished!

Last year I completed a Vanguard Squad of Skitarii for my growing AdMech army.

The year before was a Squad of RTB01 Beakie Marines.

And the year before that it was the first squad of RTB01 Beakie Marines.

So, with the continued chipping away with my Devastators I bought in 2016, I've completed all the weapon variant squads to date with the exception of the arguably most iconic weapon - the Heavy Bolter Squad!

Here is where I am up to with my pledge. Time to get these done!

Sisters of Silence - Kharon Pattern Acquisitor Transport

Hello all, thanks for dropping by. My good friend Lyden P of LP Miniatures was having a clear out and I thought I'd grab a bargain. The Kharon Pattern Acquisitor is a very Dune/Riddick-esque looking vehicle, not at all like the boxy 40K Imperial vehicles which I like, some people don't, but that's FW.

It's unusual design is because it is a grav tank built to approach its targets silently and with utmost stealth, it is deliberately made to be a thing of mystery and terror when its presence is unveiled. Used primarily in a paramilitary role by the Sisters of Silence, it can suppress civilian resistance with lethal effect and this translates well on to the battlefields of the Horus Heresy.

Lyden P did a great job on the heat bloom from the exhaust jets.

It is armed with Hellion Cannons, basically buffed shorter range Autocannons for cutting through rampaging mobs and destroying makeshift barricades. Against greater threats, it's fitted with Missile Launchers armed with various payloads of missiles, including sophisticated antipsyker warheads.

I did get a base already supplied and painted up but to match any of my forces I gave that back to Lyden for his next Custodes grav tank and he supplied me a blank base. This was decorated with some natural slate and an old Land Raider front hatch which I painted as Heresy era Deathguard colours.

The base was covered in sand and gravel and painted my usual recipe, but the slate was kept natural and sealed with varnish which enhances the natural purples. I then added some tufts and dyed flock patches.

The cool lines remind me of the Navigator Guild amniotic tank in Dune or the ships seen in Riddick Chronicles. I like it, not sure what I'll use it for and hopefully I can get some Index rules for it in 8th Edition? But just glad to have it in my collection.
