Titan Owners Club UK Walk - Day 1 Battle Pict Captures

Hi Titanseers, I'm now fully recovered and refreshed after the epic weekend of Titan festivities over a week ago now, so much so I would gladly do it again as soon as possible :)
After the line up we had a quick photo with all the Princeps, all great fellows and all members of Titan Owners Club, it was great to put faces to names, renew friendships, loyalties and grudges :)
The spectacle of all the Titans lined up is mind blowing and wallet busting all at the same time! Then it was getting down to the more serious battling!
Above was my Warlord Dominus Victoria on her first battle, gaining her first kill, Col H's Warlord Custodi Tempestus, and the first Engine Kill of the Walk event! So much for 'new model syndrome'...
We had 62 Titans and 37 Knights on the massive 54ft gaming surface. Okay 61 Titans at the final count, one member had forgotten their Warhound, so Lord Halfpenny substituted in a Porphyrion Knight to play a Warhound for the day.
The centre was held by Astorum might, John H with a Warlord, Reaver and Warhound, Phil with a Metalica Warlord, Reaver and substitute Warhound and my Astorum Warlord, Reaver and two Warhounds facing Mortis and Tempestus Maniples.
On the east flank Lyden P's Fureans Maniple closed on the cargo Storage Yard.
Canis Bellum leads the charge in the centre! Backed up by John H's Warhound plus Canis Praetor and Reaver Honorum!
My fine looking Traitors opposing me.
Traitor Mortis Engine fallen a little further than most, or is that blessed by Khorne?
The western sector was the Hive City outskirts, with the defences lead by Lord Halfpenny and the Crucius Maniple, and Gryphonicus Howling Griffons, Ignatum Iron Skulls and Solaria Imperial Hunters.
The outflanking Fureans Reaver, Mortis Warhound and Fureans Warhound scouts breach the city walls with a vanguard of Makabius Knights by Drake Seta.
The Traitors march towards the city wall breach, Mortis Engines enmasse. The valiant efforts of the Loyalists hold back the Traitors and cause multiple Engine Kills through a cataclysmic chain reaction of Reactor meltdowns!
The Fureans on the east flank were held up by some very resilient Ignatum Warhounds.
Reaver Honorum taking on two Fureans Warhounds
Knight Banner vanguard facing down Legio Tempestus
Loyalists face down the Traitors outside the walls
Imperials surge to protect the city
Crucius block the gates.
Some of the Traitor Engines defy the Imperial defence and face down the guns.
Lord Halfpenny enjoying himself, things were going well for the Loyalist defence.
Imperial Hunters of the Legio Solaria defending another breach in the walls.
Legio Solaria Warlord
Legio Solaria Warbringer
Legio Metalica Reaver
Legio Metalica Warlord
Legio Mortis Warlord
Legio Gryphonicus Warbringer
Legio Ignatum Warlord with hex camouflage
Legio Ignatum Warlord

So, the first day's tally for the Traitors was only about three Engines and some Knights, including my own Canis Bellum, but the outcome in part to self destructing meltdowns enmasse at the breach in the city walls meant the Loyalists kill tally for day one was around about eleven Engines and several Knights.

The following shots were taken using a fabric backdrop and our resident professional photographer, great shots I am really happy to have of my Engines, Thanks!
A brilliant day one massive battle with a hefty tally of kills and action. Day two was split to three concurrent zoned battles to enable more turns and action more akin to Adeptus Titanicus engagements. More photos in the next post.

Thanks for dropping in, hopefully you are enjoying the epic Titan battle pict captures (not Epic, 28mm scale! I'll post pictures of day two on Wednesday.

Cheers, Princeps Siph.

Titan Owners Club walk 2019 - Mountain Terrain for Titans

Hi One and All,

A crazy week following the Titan Owners Club, Titan Walk over the last weekend of June 2019.

I thought it would be best to post the terrain I was working on after the event - to not spoil the surprise. So when looking for light of sight blocking terrain for a Titan walk there is only one thing to do - go big! Mountain big! Here is a picture from the walk.
The TOC bought 8 fish ponds, with the plan to paint them up as mountains by turning them upside down. The mountains were painted to match the playing mat we were using. The ponds were initially cleaned, and then prepared for paint.
The ponds were sprayed initially with a base black, and then a full base of red. The mountains were then sprayed from above with different brown sprays. The mountains then had the edges highlighted with a cream spray. The cliff sides were painted with a hint of grey and black within the colour scheme. Black was used to add shadows. By spraying from above the paint was caught on the higher edges to add instant shadowing.

Here are some completed mountains with my titan's around them.
I also worked on getting 14 craters ready for the walk, these were painted as above with details picked out with grey, or the metals with Leadblecher which was dry brushed. These were the OOP Moonscape Set x2 and the Apocalypse Crashed Spaceship set.
Thanks for Looking! Cheers, Lord Halfpenny.
(55 painting points - 5 each mountain terrain, and 5 points each crater set)

Titan Owners Club UK - Walk 2019 - Map and Line Up

Hello Titanseers and Princeps, thanks for dropping by. We had such a great blast of a weekend in Hive City MK (Milton Keynes, UK) with fellow Titan Owners Club Members. This was the board that awaits the players as they came in the room, a great playing surface custom made for Drake Seta at TOC, and yes they are fish ponds as mountains painted by the good WeeMan Lord Halfpenny.
The map contained AdMech container shipping yards, with the addition of a Legio Astorum shipping container by me.
This was the Eastern Sector, it will be hotly contested by Ignatum and Fureans Titans later.
This was the Central Sector where Astorum would face Tempestus amongst others.
This was the Western City Sector, defending it would be Lord Halfpenny's Crucius Titans and Howling Griffons and a force of Solaria Titans too, amongst many more, facing them was a glut of Mortis Engines and more traitor forces... battle pictures to follow in the next post.

The Line Up
As is now tradition at the Titan Owners Club events, the day starts with a line up of forces, partly so everyone can get some good pictures and enjoy all the other members Titans before hostilities begin and you focus on your own area of the battlefield, and partly so we can count Titans, assign forces and generally balance the forces evenly. I think the count on the day was 65 Titans, 10 Banners of Knights - so 75 units!
Here is my Maniple, eagerly supported by my Brother Astorum Engines by John H, forming a central defence of a large Astorum Battlegroup.
Legio Solaria and Legio Mortis
Legio Mortis continued, and Legio Crucius
Legio Tempestus by Col Hertford and Legio Crucius by Lord Halfpenny
Legio Fureans by Lyden P
Legio Mortis and Fureans by Ben G
Legio Mortis by Drake Seta
Legio Solaria by Pete
Legio Ignatum by Ryan
Legio Gryphonnicus by Ollie and Legio Ignatum by Lee
Legio Metalica by Phil and more Legio Ignatum

I'll post the battle photos in my next post, to avoid Titan Reactor Meltdowns, Drake Seta will be able to tell you all about those... brilliant weekend with like-minded Princeps, good atmosphere and social and breakfasts, hotel facilities were spot on and it is safe to say we are all looking forward to the next event!

Thanks for stopping by, cheers, Princeps Siph!

AdMech - Re-arming Kataphron Breachers Heavy Battle Servitors for 8th Edition

Hello All, thanks for dropping by, I am recovering from an awesome weekend of Titan gaming at the Titan Owners Club UK Walk, more of that later with photos. Right now, I have re-armed my Kataphron Breachers to be more in line with the 8th Edition meta of shooting is king...

I had two squads of Kataphron Breachers seen HERE armed with Torsion Cannons, a mighty weapon - if it hits. A one shot Heavy 24in, Strength 8, -4AP and D6 damage was a tank killer IF the squad was lucky with it's to-hit rolls, but more often than not these expensive heavy troops missed and then subsequently died to massed guns or countercharge melee, having to close to 24in to fire these guns. I decided I would re-arm one squad with more flexible weapons.
I purchased a box of Breachers/Destroyers from Warhammerfest with the intention to make a squad of effective Heavy Plasma Caliver armed Kataphron Destroyers, this gave me spare weapon options to re-arm a squad of Breachers. Pictured are the Heavy Arc Rifle bits painted up to swap, the internal tab removed as the surface is now flush..
The Torsion Cannon was cut off at the weapon body, a bit both weapons share in common, this was sanded smooth and the Torsion barrel off to the bits box. The Heavy Arc Rifle was simply glued in its normal place and voila, a more flexible higher rate of fire, longer range squad of Breachers.
The Heavy Arc Rifle is Heavy 2, 36in, Strength 6, -2AP, D3 damage or D6 against vehicles, coupled with the Hydraulic Claw these are still effective vehicle killers if needed, but the two longer range shots give me a lot more flexible squad that has the chance to hit other targets. Not forgetting Heavy Battle Servitors can move and fire heavy weapons without penalty.
I sacrificed the magic St8 and -4AP for longer range and mutliple shots. Now reaching another 12in and doubling the amount of shots I have a fair chance of being a more effective unit and at a lower cost of points too.
If I need dedicated anti-heavy vehicle firepower if facing an Imperial Knights list or Superheavy Tank, I can call on the other Torsion Cannon armed squad or rely on the Neutron Laser Dunecrawlers!
So, there you have it. A more flexible troops option for the battlefield of 8th Edition. Cheers, Siph.
