Terrain and Scenery - Underground Building Entrance

Hello Readers, thanks for dropping in. Here is my latest and long overdue terrain piece to add to the collection. I bought this a long time ago when FW still sold them, I see they no longer do! Glad I picked it up and then forgot all about it until I moved house.
I think it was originally labelled as Phobos Building 1 or something like that, but was a smaller version of another terrain piece of an underground entrance. I love it, it hint's of a vast underground Imperial vault, or weapons cache or complex.
This was painted with the new GW Zandri Dust spray and a wash of Agrax Earthshade, metal bits were Leadblecher and washed with Typhus Corrosion. The brick work got a highlight drybrush of Ushabti Bone. The ground at the rear was raised using modelling clay before the usual receipe of Calthan Brown (the big tub of brown in the Citadel Scenery Painting Pack), Kommando Khaki drybrush and Ushabti Bone final drybrush and a scattering of flock.
Not much else to say, as always the scenery was based using 3mm hardboard (fiber board) and cut with a jigsaw and then sanded on the edges, this allowed the modelling clay to hint at the underground labyrinth a little more.
Hope you like, and hope you find inspiration to paint some of that grey plastic scenery! Thanks for dropping by, for more Weemen Terrain ideas and pictures, feel free to click on the label 'Terrain'. Thanks.

  2. This is such a cool piece. I can immediately see it being used in a multi-level game...where when you go into the base, you move onto a little board on the side...so wicked awesome.

  5. Thank you for your comments, and yes Daveb, I know the piece you are talking about, I still have one. Greg, you are right, with both entrances I could make a tunnel shortcut or something
