Terrain and Scenery - Honoured Imperium Broken Imperial Aquila

Just a quick update on the scenery progress, a broken Imperial Aquila. This was from the GW Honoured Imperium scenery kit, a great kit including the Space Marine Statue seen earlier (here). Just the little bit of broken ruins to do, which will be part of the Shrine of the Aquila sets I have yet to do.

A black basecoat, drybrushed Codex Grey and Fortress Grey then the muddy areas Calthan Brown and drybrushed Kommando Khaki and Bleached Bone. Skulls were picked out in Rotten Flesh and washed with Gryphonne Sepia and highlighted Bleached Bone.

Another bit of scenery done, 30mins tops. Go on, make a start on the scenery you have sitting there all dull and grey and plastic... for other weeman terrain ideas click here.

Thanks for reading.

  1. Nice, simple - what more could you want with your terrain

  2. Looking good! Scenery really is the 3rd player in most games. Really makes the games so dynamic and awesome.

  3. Cheers Froth / Greg. And what more could I want... hmmm... maybe for the entire box of Imperial City Ruins to construct itself and paint itself ;)

Greg, totally agree! I'm on a terrain drive this year, it just makes the whole battle experience better in my opinion! Otherwise, you might as well be playing toy soliders on the table cloth.
