Adeptus Custodes - Adeptus Astra Telepathica - Sisters of Silence

Hello All, thanks for dropping by. This week's offering to the paint gods is a long overdue squad of Sisters of Silence. These were once the militant arm of the Adeptus Astra Telepathica and were referred to internally within the records of the Adeptus Terra as the Departmento Investigates. They are an all-female order of Imperial Witch Hunters and soulless psychic Nulls tasked with hunting down renegade psykers and other psychic threats across the galaxy. They also help to enforce the Imperium's rigid laws on the use of psychic powers.

On the battlefields of 40K, Custodes armies suffer from low model count and expensive basic troops, thats where the Sisters of Silence help out. These Bolter armed Sisters are the cheapest variety for back field Objective holding.

• Prosecutor Squad: Equipped with Umbra-pattern boltguns for balanced, longer-range fire and defensive screening.
• Vigilator Squad: Armed with executioner greatblades for heavy melee damage.
• Witchseeker Squad: Fitted with flamers for close-range, multi-target assaults and clearing objectives.

Sister Superior, with face shield and lots of Purity Seals

I quite enjoyed painting these Sisters of Silence with dark armour to contrast the accompanying Custodes gold, but linking with the golden pauldrons, resulting in Judge Dredd-esque uniforms which is nice and fitting... They have a final finish of Colbalt Blue colourshift over the dark armour to give a psyker-Null witchery vibe.

I also enjoyed the fur - really easy, Rhinox Hide, with drybrushed Mournfang Brown, Karak Stone, Ushabti Bone and a lower section wash of Agrax. Quite effective.
