WIP Friday - Deathwatch

 Hi All,

A quick WIP post, I'm currently working on a Deathwatach Lieutenant, as well as built together a second one that I've printed myself. The Lieutenant has had the power weapon switched with a spare Necron weapon, akin to those used on other Deathwatch members.

The printed Lieutenant is armed with blades and a combi-weapon.

 Thanks for swinging by! LH

Legio Astorum - Battle Titan Weapon Upgrades

Hi Titanseers, thanks for dropping by. I have been busy this month with Squaduary Primaris Marines but at the start of the month I had a Titan Walk at Bournemouth Beachhead, so in the run up to that I painted some more changeable weapon options. Above is Mons Vesuvius living up to its name, triple Volcanoes - (those 4 Servitor Clades will be used to expel the reactor heat in AT28mm!)
I bought a set of weapons in bulk (11 or so) from an abandoned project someone was planning, not expecting much from the lot as it was cheap however 1.5 Volcanoes were usable, along with six Apocalypse Missile Launchers. Yes, one Volcano Cannon was missing the rear heat sink radiator section. Lord TITANIUM printed me a replacement so above you can see:
  • TOP - 3D printed radiator, Warhound cable replaced and a fan assembly where the capacitor flask was. Dorsal vent replaced.
  • MIDDLE - 3D printed capacitor flask cylinder, dorsal vent replacement, magnets for banner in place of the missing cables. Lord TITANIUM will print some replacement side cables.
  • BOTTOM - complete FW original.
The middle one has had some hose extensions on the top side to fit my Warbringer, manufactured from spare right-angle hose extensions that come with all FW Battle Titan Engines for fitting the old style side hoses of early Reaver titans. Newer Reaver and weapons have middle mounted hoses on the top side making left and right arm swaps easy.

Cheers, Siph (15pts)

Squaduary 2026 - Week 3 - Basecoated Minis Ready for Details - Primaris Intercessors

Hello All, thanks for dropping by to my Squaduary pledge progress, start of week 3, basecoats are all done, started with the basing material too. Details to get done this week, washing with Nuln Oil, then highlights on the grey, black and Brown. Then metallics and smaller details.
Of the two identical Marines, one has the Purity seal removed from right Pauldron, and has a Purity Seal added to the Bolt Rifle, whilst the other has an additional Purity Seal added to the left thigh plate to make slightly different silhouettes.
Next week as stated is I'm planning on painting the details... Let me know if you are partaking in Squaduary and I'll link here too.

Cheers, Siph.

New Printer set! P1S!

 Hello All!

Just a quick post to show a 3d printing update,

I was fortunate to be given a Bambu Labs P1S printer, which I've set up this week.

This will be used primarily to print 40k terrain, buildings et al for my collection. My first print was the Benchy print to check all was good, then to print a Reaver head which will be used as a base for my next Warhound.

Cheers for stoping by! LH

Squaduary 2026 - Week 2 - Constructed Minis Ready for Painting

Hello All, thanks for dropping by, progress was slow on my Squaduary pledge as I had Titans to do and weekend away, but got the basics done and tailored some of the minis. The First Strike plastic frame has three Marines, one of which is a Sergeant. So I used 2 frames and sold a Sergeant.
The three Intercessors as mentioned include a Sergeant and two Marines - the Marines doubled will just not do, a Marine with Auspex and a standard Marine. I swapped one of my two Auspex Marines to hold a Combat Blade from the Reiver frame so they don't look identical, he also has the empty scabbard attached on the waist band too. The second trooper is a basic holding pose so two of them will be fine, I may add a few differing purity seals from the bitz box to one to differentiate.
I didn't like the Sergeants face, and hate painting faces and agree that each Marine in Power Armour is an investment not worth getting your unarmoured head blown off from a stray round - so I sawed the helmet off with a razor saw and mounted it in the neck with a small circular shift of sprue from the frame to raise it slightly and act as the neck. The Sergeant's Helmet has a skull motif so couldn't just use a normal Primaris spare. I then added some spare sizeable pouches to cover the removal site on the thigh.
Next week I'm planning on painting basecoats or any progress... Let me know if you are partaking in Squaduary and I'll link here too.

Cheers, Siph.

Its that time again - Squaduary Event 2026 - Intercessor Squad from First Strike

My calendar year has two hobby community highlights I partake in, October "Dreadtober" and February's "Squaduary" - I missed the previous couple of February's as work trips to Antarctica during the Austral Summer will tend to put hobby plans to the back-burner but its February once again so it's time I grabbed something that has been sitting around on the painting desk for all too long and got it finished!
Squaduary was run by Stepping Between Games blog, Thousand Eyes used to plow through the interwebz and Instagram for the Squaduary pledges and pooled them together. This has now fallen by the wayside but I may have gone and continued my hobby now-tradition last year even if officially there wasn't one, and a few of the community continued too. The blogging community has shrunken over the years, but a few participants are still holding the torch against the dying of the light (imho IG, FB are soulless in comparison to a blog with the author's thoughts and colour scheme etc... but I am old. I do have IG @siph_horridus where I cross post Blog stuff).
In 2023 it was a Squad of Primaris Reivers from First Strike
In 2022 it was a Squad of Bikers
In 2020 it was a Devastator Squad with Heavy Bolters
In 2019, I completed a Vanguard Squad of Skitarii for my growing AdMech army.
In 2018 it was a Squad of RTB01 Beakie Marines.
And in 2017 it was the first squad of RTB01 Beakie Marines.
So, this year is a long overdue squad of push-fit Intercessor Primaris Marines from First Strike like the 2023 pledge of Reivers from the same boxset.
As the start of the month passes, this is where they are. I have started using bits from the remaining left over Reiver to make the 5th Intercessor different from the Auspex holding one, he has a Reiver Close Combat Knife forearm and an empty scabbard to put it in, cut from the Reiver kit.

Wish me luck and join in if you want! My initial progress may be slow as I have a Titan Walk to prepare for at Beachhead on the 7-8th Feb!

Cheers, Siph
