Dreadtober 2024 - Pledge Complete - Imperial Knights - Cerastus Knight Lancer

Hello Dreadtober-teers and Readers all, thanks for dropping by. I have completed my #Dreadtober2024 pledge in the form of a Vassal Knight of Legio Astorum, a Cerastus Knight Lancer, resin kit from Forgeworld. This will be the first of three (others plastic kit from GW) to make up a Banner of Knights when we do Titan Walks at Titan Owners Club, using AT28mm rules.
The Lancer is astride a tactical rock like all good Knight Senschal's should be. I think the more static pose of one of the plastic Knights will make the Senschal of this Banner, but for now - this is the solo Knight.
I did a rather understated muted blue glow of the Shock Lance and Ion Shield, but I think they look quite good so I am quite happy with the effect I achieved through dry brushing.
The en-guard pose, shield up and lance at ready I am quite please with.
The remenants of an enemy Knight Questoris lay at the Lancer's feet. House Malinax is missing a Knight...
Tacticool Rock for the Win!
Here you can see the guard pose I wanted to achieve, the Knight Helmet doesn't give the best field of view for the sensor optics, I'm sure there are more optics somewhere!
A close up of the Ion Shield
And magnetised for safer transport to Titan Owners Club events!
Dreadtober is an annual event held over the month of October where hobbyists pledge to do a dreadnought-sized model from the to-do pile and get it finished, starting 1st Oct and completing 31st Oct (Halloween/All Hallows Eve) with lots of progress shots and encouragement along the way :) and I like to partake in Dreadtober, and have done for a few years, check out the link in the sidebar >>>>

Cheers, and great work to all the Dreadtober-teers this year, thanks for the inspiration and the Dreads! And not forgetting it was run by Marc (Old School Gaming) so a massive thanks to him for keeping the hobby event alive for another year! And thanks to the founder Greggles, and Joe B and Todd (Sincain40K) and Joel (Mordian7th) for their contributions through the years too. See you next year Dreadtober-teers and next week for a recap of now Seven years Dreadtober!

Update - Warhound Canis Victrix of Legio Astorum - Plasma Blastgun

Hello Titanseers and Readers All, thanks for dropping by. Pictured is a new weapon option for one of my magnetised Forge World Warhound Titans of Legio Astorum. I have used rubber skipping rope for the power cables meaning its flexible and easily swapped out between titans and sides left or right without an issue.

After the Titan Owners Club UK Main Walk two weeks ago I decided that the Vulcan Mega Bolter (VMB) and Plasma Blastgun (PBG) combination was a great one for a Warhound, shield stripping and damage potential. The Turbolaser Destructor (TLD) lacked the number of shots (two) but has shieldbane to compensate in AT28mm, but a Plasma Blastgun also has two shots but if on target, the template centre is double - so four hits and possible splash damage into other Warhounds if operating as a squadron, so a pair can be hit six times (two shots doubled and two shots splash damage under the Blast Template to adjacent Warhound) meaning it is more effective at dropping more shields and has a greater damage potential when firing at Maximal Power (St10 vs TLD S9).

So, the short version is, I used to have Warhound Canis Bellum with PBG/VMB and I swapped out these to share with Canis Praetor TLD/TLD to both have a TLD plus either PBG or VMB and these are screwed into place meaning swapping is more laboured. But now, I've bought this combo back in Canis Victrix with the option of swapping to any preferred combination of weapons with magnets.
Canis Victrix now has the weapon options of either VMB, PBG, TLD or Inferno Gun

Dreadtober 2024 - Cerastus Knight Lancer - Rites of Colour

Hello Dreadtober-teers and Readers all, thanks for dropping by. I have continued the Cerastus Knight Lancer, nearly getting there - just the Shock Lance and banner to do when I decide how to do the Shock Lance 'shock power' effect. The Shock Lance weapon forearm is magnetised for ease of transporting. The Ion Shield can be easily clipped into place too.
The Knight has been attached to the base, the arm affixed in place and now carapace top and left shoulder pauldron are now fixed in place
And whilst busy doing the Forge World resin Knight Lancer for Dreadtober, I have progressed with two plastic Knight Lancers to make a Cerastus Banner for the next Titan Owners Club titan Walk. The resin one will be completed next week for the end of Dreadtober, then the other two can be progressed further - they will have Taro Modelmaker resin infilled Shields, you can see the Shield attachment in the above photo - and possibly a fourth Knight before the next Walk at Beachhead 2025 in February.

Dreadtober 2024 - Cerastus Knight Lancer Progresses

Hello Dreadtober-teers, progress is happening with the Cerastus Knight Lancer, base is finished and endo-skeleton is basecoated, needs more details finishing.
I actually am waiting on three Taro Modelmaker solid in-fill shields for the three Lancers I have but for now I tired my hand at a little blue energy glow on the Lancer's shield, came out quite good! Just drybrushed from dark to light and large patch to smaller.
The base has a fallen enemy Knight arm from House Malinax, decals from AT boxset. The gubbins inside the torn off arm are from a Ad Mech Torsion Cannon.

Hello Dreadtober-teers, a good week of building and clean up and even some base work too, as I needed it for posing the legs. I have even included a tacticool rock!
The pose will be a braced stance with shield up and lance thrust forward. The above image shows the main pose. Onward to the Rites of Colour!

WeeMen at the London Grand Tournament Titan Walk

Titan Owners Club UK held a demonstration game at the London Grand Tournament, held at Lea Valley Athletics Centre, north London, last weekend. Myself (Siph) and a few other UK Princeps had the opportunity to bring their Titans to pitch battle ahead of the Titan Owners Club UK Main Walk in two week's time. It was a great weekend of gaming and victory to the Loyalists on Day 1 and Day 2 - using the Adeptus Titanicus (scaled up to AT28mm) ruleset and objectives (hidden). Here are some pictures -
Traitor Engines line up with Xenos allies - TOC Member Richard A's Legio Mortis Engines
TOC Member Laura A's Legio Tempestus traitor heavy engines form the centre of the traitor force
On the left traitor flank traitor (for the weekend) TOC Member James C's Legio Astraman
The Loyalist lines, left flank TOC Member Rob W's Legio Solaria
And TOC Member's Aaron P. and TOC Admin Lee M's Legio Astorum and Ignatum
The centre left held by my own Legio Astorum
And the loyalist left flank anchored by TOC Admin Engine Phil's Legio Metalica
Warhounds from Legio Astorum stalk the ruins
Supported by Legio Metalica Warhounds making good use of the terrain
Here comes the Audax pain-train Full Stride and Power to Locomotives straight toward the larger guns of the Astorum Engines - will they get their giant killer prize
Battle plans changed, the Audax outflanked by Astorum, outflanked by traitor-Astraman, outflanked by Metalica! Much hilarity!
Day two saw traitor Legio Astraman facing loyalist Legio Astorum
A massive crane started its life as a toy crane

Thanks to all attending, I had a blast, Cheers, Siph
