Terrain and Scenery - Wrecked Warhound Titan #1

Hello All, thanks for dropping by. The only good use of a 3D printed Titan in my book is as a wreck terrain piece. I am an avid fan of Forge World and do my best to support their continued production of Titans - 7 Mars Warhounds so far, and 3 Lucius, plus Warbringers, Reavers and Warlords... anyway, even with my collection I am not mad enough to make a wrecked one from a FW model! (Warhounds are £457.50 without Arms at time of posting), so to have a cool terrain piece I sought out an alternative.
A poor Mortis Legio Warhound, as my most common adversary at Titan Walks has been Drake_Seta's or Winters Warhammer's Mortis Engines. I added a big skull icon from the bits box plus two FW skulls for the arm mounts.
The Plasma Blastgun is out of scale and a lot fatter than the genuine article and overall the 3D print is nowhere near as detailed as the resin FW kits, but as a terrain piece its ideal for a quick and dirty paint job as wrecked titan. The magnetic coils of the Plasma Blastgun are powered down from my usual blue glow pulse designs to the copper mag-coils un-energised.
The head is at an acute angle, neck-broken as the Titan face-dived into the mud after losing a leg from a well aimed loyalist shot!
I added the neck cables as trailing cables beneath the titan, one powering the Vulcan Mega Bolter, and...
... the other detached underneath the torso to the head.
The detached leg I chose to do separate from the main base as the leg mass was quite heavy and would mean the unsupported severed leg would bend the fibreboard/hardboard base. It also means you can make the terrain more spread out and tell a story - and more practical for using the terrain on a 40K battle if wanted.
I snapped off some of the knee gear and pistons to show the damage from the killing blow
And here is the proud Scion who downed the Engine, a Cerastus Knight Lancer of Legio Astorum ;)

Cheers, Siph (25pts - Warhound but simpler)

Terrain and Scenery - Sanctum Cloisters

Hello all, thanks for dropping by. I have a few Pegasus Hobbies building tiles left over from when I previously made large titan line-of-sight blocking terrain pieces, so I put them to good use making 'normal' 40K sized terrain - a cloistered Sanctum block ruins.
I added some propaganda posters
I made some tiles from cereal box card

Reaver Titan - Chainfist Close Combat Weapon

Hello Titanseers, welcome and thanks for dropping by. Regular readers know we love Titan's here at WeeMen, both of us are active Admins at Titan Owners Club and our titan collections continue to grow. The Reaver Close Combat weapon Chainfist is long overdue a re-release and is OOP, so an alternative was sought.
Here is the original on Lord TITANium's Reaver. The newer design is slightly longer on the blade part.
I found this online and had a 3D printing service print it for me as I don't have a 3D printer.
It is a mighty weapon
And a good print, once painted you can see the detail come out.
And the Reaver who will sport these weapons is yet to do, it will be a while until I complete this 3rd Reaver. It will also have the added complications of having interchangeable arms for ranged weaponry - so magnetised arms and shoulders where the CC weapons affix. It looks huge in the above photo however the first photo above shows its actually quite nicely scaled and about 2 inches longer than the OOP FW one.
And next to the other Reaver Close Combat weapon from Forge World, the Titan Powerfist/Claw, both are magnetised and have a pin to prevent rotation due to the angles of the arm weight so the magnet stays connected firmly.
And a comparison of the Adeptus Titanicus Chainfist where the inspiration clearly comes from!

Cheers, Princeps Seniores Siph (5pts extra weapon)

Legio Astorum Warhound Titan "Canis Irae" No.4562 from Forge World - WIP

Welcome Titanseers and all, thanks for dropping by. After completing Canis Secondus another titan second hand sale caught my eye and as Warhound No. 4562 wasn't registered on Titan Owners Club, I was pleased to 'bring it into the family'.  Firstly I reconstructed the legs after trimming down the base from a large round to my characteristic smaller interlocking circles. I believe a base makes a strong and stable addition, making the legs and base a strong triangle to prevent splaying, or tipping over at Titan Walk events.
I repainted the shin guards and added the Titan's names to the scrollwork, "Canis Irae", or low gothic "Hound of Fury", befits a scout titan.
The previous owner had some cool airbrush work, so in my usual style I like to preserve something of the previous ownership to honour the Machine Spirit - so I re-did the trim and added the Legio Astorum star maps over the airbrush work, Legio Astorum use star maps to record the titan's history and previous campaigns.
Here you can see the addition I made to the base, with chain-link fence and a dragon's tooth tank trap under the toes. The Titan will be attached to the base via a large screw up through the base in the centre of the rubble and the base of the fence. The toes will be glued to the rubble and the screws laced with JB Weld for a strong bond. The leg joins were all drilled and pinned as I don't know what glue the previous owner had used, and I re-attached all the toes with JB Weld and pins. I also pinned the feet into the lower leg to prevent any breaks in the ball socket.
Here you can see the leg being glued to the hips, held in place with clamps whilst the JB Weld sets.
So far, I have completed the base and legs, and Drake-Seta at Battle Bunnies Blog supplied and designed another Banner for my Hounds. Thanks mate! Loving the progress so far, a unique Warhound amongst my own six... now seven, which poses me with a problem - keep all seven or sell one to stay at 2x Squadron of 3? Nice problem to have...

Cheers, Princeps Seniores Siph

Adeptus Custodes - Captain-General Trajann Valoris

The office of Captain-General is one of the most powerful military appointments in the Imperium. It confers full responsibility for the overall defence of the Sol System, Terra, the Imperial Palace and, ultimately, the Golden Throne and the Emperor himself. Many claim that Trajann Valoris is the greatest warrior to hold the title of Captain-General since the Emperor strode the stars, having proven himself to be dynamic and effective; qualities that make him ideally suite to lead in this age of unprecedented aggression. (Quoted from Warhammer.com)
Welcome readers, thanks for dropping by. My latest acquisition was a 2nd-hand Trajann Valoris, picked up from a trader at Beachhead expo in February. Well it caught my eye as the gold was a match for my own, and it was cheap and I haven't got this auto-include choice yet to lead my Custodes forces. It was missing the beard so I added that back in, repainting the details and trying to make the eyes not too goofy. I painted the base to match my existing forces.
He wears Castellan Plate, an ancient suit of powered armour that incorporates a heraldic tilting plate adorned with an eagle’s head emblem. An auramite halo frames his scowling face, and the whole suit is covered in the kind of ornate, sculpted details that set the Adeptus Custodes apart from other Imperial warriors – eagles, gemstones and filigree litter every surface. His main weapon held in his right hand is the Watcher’s Axe, an enormous polearm which incorporates a ferocious master-crafted bolt weapon known as the Eagle’s Scream. As this was second hand, its missing the ornamental lions pelt and the feathers - but I quite like the less ornate Trajann.
I repainted the cloak to match my existing forces, using the Warhammer "How to Paint Custodes Wardens" YT video colours. Its a lovely cloak colour, Khorne Red, Nuln Oil wash, Khorne Red, Wazdakka and Squig Orange
The Watchers Axe is brighter and larger than the Sentinel Axes, this is meant to set it apart from the line troop weapons, so I kept the lighter blue tones, and repainted it to reflect the immense power build up.
Here he is leading his Allarus Custodian Terminators into battle.

Cheers, Siph (5pts as gold was already done)
