Relictors Space Marine Chapter - Castraferrum Dreadnought #12

Hello Readers, thanks for dropping by. I am scheduling these posts again as I return overseas. This is the fifth of many Dreadnought reinforcements I bought from Goddenzilla at Kaiju Country blog. A basic Multi-Melta and Power Fist variety, this one attached to my 4th Company.
This is the second Dreadnought to sport the new Fallout Hobbies decals for Relictors Chapter 'side skull'.
The lower greave on the leg has a green band denoting 4th Company, green being the traditional Company colour of 4th Co. Space Marines as laid down in Insignium Astartes. I have a further 13 Dreadnoughts from Goddenzilla to slowly re-paint or touch up the scheme to match my own forces!

Legio Astorum - Warlord Titan #4 - Work in Progress - Armour Panels

Welcome back Titanseers, I continue by delicate re-paint of "Raptor Astra", a fine job was done by Princeps Alan G who owned the titan before me but I wanted to make the titan my own and repaint the blues and golds to match my own Titans but preserve the superb job he had done. This was achieved by leaving some of the weathering exposed, re-applying new weathering, reducing the general wear and tear to suit my taste and re-colour a few panels in my own style.
Here you can see I preserved the white chevron plate however all the trim was re-done with my own Vallejo Brass (Gold) and completely re-painted the upper armour plate with new central decal and constellations.
The central pauldron armour was re-painted with Kantor Blue and new weathering applied to blend in with the adjoining yellow rear panels. The lower shoulder pad was also repainted preserving the decals with some delicate brush work inbetween the sunbeams! The large cog was also half painted black to match my other Titans.
The 'headlights' were painted red to match my other Titans and a few decals were removed to suit my less busy style.
Here is a shot of the titan during re-attachment of the side panels, using gravity to keep in place. The main difference you may see compared to the opening shot is the re-paint of the large front pauldron glacis, now Kantor Blue to match my other titans (washed out by a flash). You can also see the repainted torso 'cheeks', with yellow stripes, Warlord Dominus Victoria has this design with white and blue, Ex-Noctia has red and blue too.
Finally for this post, you can see the addition of the blue and gold intact vent covers, to match my other Warlords on the void generator vanes. The fantastic metallics of the upper surfaces done by Alan G will remain. The Rites of Colour continue for "Raptor Astra" Warlord Titan No.258.

Legio Astorum - Warlord Titan #4 - Work in Progress - Spare Arioch Power Claw

Hello Titanseers, welcome to more progress on the fourth Warlord... it came with a spare arm so I thought I'd paint it! This is a Warlord Titan Arioch Power Claw, and I have two more with Warlord "Ex-Noctia" No.10, but this one has the actual power claw attachments rather than the power fist variety. No in game difference, purely aesthetics - the Power Claw looks generally more vicious and heretical...
The Arioch Power Claw comes with a Vulcan Mega Bolter Array which sits on the back of the hand. This adds either a pip of strength or a Vulcan Mega Bolter depending on in game rule set. At 28mm Titan Walks we have been granting the Vulcan Mega Bolter rules even though we are playing AT28mm rules where it usually has just a pip of strength to CC attacks - but in a massive battle of 30-100 Titans, a dual fist Warlord barely makes it across the floor/board to use them, at least with it shooting as well, in the closing stages it can strip shields and have an in game effect even if it doesn't make it into combat!
I added some white stripes to one panel to match several of my Titan maniple armour designs.
The power cables were a pain to paint but came out okay.
I opted for yellow knuckles again to break up the mass of blues.
Here it is pictured with the less stabby Power-Fist variety from Warlord "Ex-Noctia", perhaps now I really do need to paint a left-hand Power Claw since both of these are the same side. I do have one still in the unfinished Legio Atarus colours Ex-Noctia came in.
Here Warlord "Ex-Noctia" is modelling the newest battlefield accessory...

Thanks for dropping by. The Rites of Colour for Warlord No.258 "Raptor Astra" continues.

Legio Astorum - Warlord Titan #4 - Work in Progress - Titan Base

Welcome back Titanseers, thanks for dropping by. I have continued progress with "Raptor Astra" Warlord Titan, in company with my other Warlords I use 6mm MDF to base them, bases are a personal choice of course but I think they bring more strength and stability to this massive model, strength as the base acts as a third side of a triangle strengthening the legs and stability as the pose is not reliant on the toes for balance, the feet are glued and screwed firmly to the base.

I start off by tracing around the model with a couple of plates, cut the shape out and sand the edges smooth. Once the position is finalised I trace around the feet so I know where not to glue the sand and gravel. I place debris and
Once the debris is mapped out and rocks glued down, the PVA is put down and sand added. I then once dry use a sharp blade to score the footprints for better epoxy resin glue adhesion for the feet themselves.
Here is the completed and painted base, complete with a Malinax Knight arm ripped off the chassis! Down with the traitors! The Rites of Colour continue for "Raptor Astra" Warlord no.258

Relictors Space Marine Chapter - Castraferrum Dreadnought #11

Hello Readers, Happy New Year! and thanks for dropping by. I am scheduling these posts again as I return overseas. This is the fourth of many Dreadnought reinforcements I bought from Goddenzilla at Kaiju Country blog. A basic Multi-Melta and Power Fist variety, attached to my 5th Company.
I tried out the new Relictors "Side Skull" decals again from Fallout Hobbies, liking these - it will be a slow burn to retro fit all the Battle Companies so far! But newer additions such as this get the suitable icons.
A worthy addition to any Space Marine force, that's 14 Dreadnoughts with 5th Company now... a little excessive haha, but only with 5 Dreadnoughts in 4th Company so more of these Goddenzilla reinforcements will go to 4th Company as it grows.

Deathwatch Infiltrators and Incursors - DONE!

 Hello one and all,

Another week - another offering of Deathwatch goodies!

This week is a 10 man, Infiltrator/Incursor squad, designed to work with my othe Phobos armoured marines in a 'Tau' inspired Camo scheme.

I like the idea of the Deathwatch force utilising all tools they can get their hands on- in this case a Mech has located details for how to 'cloak' armour, those the scheme is phasing into a camo style, however I wanted it to look more cloaked , than camo thus the armour colour is dictated by what the boots are touching - if they are on a tactical rock, the boots and lower legs a grey into browns, if the boot is on the ground, the scheme will match. The phasing is done with dark to light blues, washed with a blue, then a white line for the top of the phase.

I really like how these guys look as a group. LH (10pts)

Horus Heresy 30K - Death Guard - Primus Medicae and Death Guard Legion Scheme

Well, well. Yes it's a new army but one I have had for a while in the to-do pile, not jumping in Horus Heresy yet, just fancied a change of colour and watching a few YT videos to find a method and scheme I like. Here is my latest purchase, an eBay job painted as a White Scar Legion however with a change of trim and shoulder pauldron and a test of a YT 'Marine Juice' for weathering I give you a Primus Medicae in Cataphractii Terminator Armour.
So the original model when it was released I thought of one Legion and one only, it screamed Death Guard, its leather apron made the model look to have a distended belly like corrupted Death Guard, I liked it and once I had made my decision to choose a Legion, Death Guard it was - in some small part to this model which was then OOP... so I hunted for a fair priced one on eBay and the above was a good (enough) price and decent paint job. Instead of a strip and re-paint, I opted for a modification and wash.
Metal details were picked out in Decayed Metal - from Scale 75, a totally awesome metal for Death Guard Legion. The blood transfusion bags I opted to keep the turquoise wash the apron was and overpainted the apron with whites and contrast Skeleton Horde. The plain pauldron was a test for the Death Guard scheme, Death Guard Green (obviously), Nurgling Green highlight and edge of Kreig Khaki.
The base was Stirland Mud with a Baneblade Brown drybrush and a black rim. Different from all of my 40K armies using Calthan Brown/Mournfang Brown base and edges.
The best thing is I really liked the scheme and the sickly green. I will get some test models done for Tactical Marines but before I forget or misplace the recipe I will be using:

Undercoat - Spray Chaos Black
Basecoat - Heavy-ish Zenithal spray Wraithbone
Greens* - DRPA Goblinoid Green (Citadel Warboss Green); highlight DRPA Troll Snot Green (Citadel Skarsnik Green); wash DRPA Necrosis Green Wash (Citadel Athonian Camoshade)
Metals - Leadbelcher, highlight Iron Hands Steel
Weapons - Black then Leadbelcher on metal parts, highlight Iron Hands Steel
Eyes - Blood Angel Contrast
Chipping - Rhinox Hide, White Scar on lower edges of big chips
Trim - Scale 75 Decayed Metal, washed AGrax/Terradon Turquoise 4:1 ratio, Balthasar Gold Highlight
Wash Everything - Marine Juice (Nuln Oil/Reikland Fleshshade/Lahmian Fluid 1:1:1 ratio)
Rust spots - Streaking Grime and Thinners
Base - Stirland Mud base, drybrushed Baneblade Brown, Black rim

* new green recipe, much more vibrant green as seen below.

New green on shoulder plate and Mortarion's knees (his Shoulders are fabric)

Deathwatch more additions!

 Hello one and all!

Apologise for the lack of comms - its been a crazy few weeks!

Up this week is 2 new additions to the growing Deathwatch force - maybe not inkeeping with the lore, however I'm going for things I like the look of!

First of all, is a slightly converted Contemptor dreadnought. I've had this guy for a while, and didn't touch due to the lack of the pose - this was the plastic 'custodes' version. I opted to chop the leg a little to give him more of a running pose, which was added by the position of the left fist. Really happy with this one!

Next up is an odd one - I opted for the Khyrabdis Assault Claw drop pod - previosuly this was painted blue, however I liked the idea of the Master of the Watch opening the vaults in a Deathwatch station to access the old tech from days gone bye due to the situation the imperial force finds them in.. the question is would they use the drop pod...

Thanks for looking! LH (25pts)

Legio Astorum - Warlord Titan #4 - Work in Progress - Titan Banner

Hello Titanseers, thanks for dropping by. More progress on the 4th Warlord, okay as this is going to be finished way before number 3... The amazing Drake Seta at Battle Bunnies blog and co-founder of Titan Owners Club designed me another set of banners for Warlord 3 and 4. So, Raptor Astra now has a banner bearing its proud name. The pole was brass rod, the banner is printed on paper and sealed with watered PVA, then a chain was attached to the bar.
The chain is steel so magnetic and attached to the groin of the Warlord using two small magnets. The banner was bent into shape and applied PVA glue to seal in shape like the billowing wind.
Here's the magnets, just 2mm x 2mm is sufficient, and easy to remove the banner during transport.
Here is the banner in place inbetween the legs. A great addition to the Titan. Thanks Drake Seta! The Rites of Colour continue for "Raptor Astra" Warlord Titan no.258.
