Callidus Assassin

Welcome Reader, thanks for dropping in. Here is the latest addition to the Weemen collection, I was unfortunately unable to get hold of a copy of the Assassin game on release, however, plenty of Assassin models appeared on eBay shortly after. Instead of feeding the eBay hoarder army of re-sellers, I at least plumped for a decent painted one, at least this was a hobbyist who constructed and painted his before selling on. So not all my own work, just adapted from a decent paint job.
I re did the base, the hair and some small details, highlights on the leather, the eye lenses and the neural disruptor to make this piece my own and fit with the rest of my forces.
I did have the intention of cutting the long braid off completely and making it more 'realistic' for an assassin operative, however I grew to like the oversized impractical hair-do... gives good height to the miniature and some dynamism and movement.
So, not all my own work, but hey, it's mine now and will be used in a battle soon! Can't wait to see how it performs on the field in melee.

  1. Looks great! I do think you need another bright point of interest to draw the eye in though. That hair is a bit overwhelming on the model! (Of course, that might make it just perfect for the tabletop!)

  2. Cheers Greg, I think I know what you mean, I did debate cutting off the hair completely as a true operative wouldn't have that huge hair, but this is the grim-dark. Not sure what other bright point of interest I could add, perhaps lighten the sword, or add something to the base, but as it wasn't all my own work I think I'll leave as is.

When you gonna finish your Kans? There is a lot of them ;)

  3. They are approaching the final stages now. It's a bit difficult because I'm trying to get all 17 walkers at the exact same "state" of readiness. So every step is multiplied across 17 walkers, which are all pretty large in scale. Plus I'm scared about the chipping step :)

Ya the hair would be hard to counter. It's right there at the top, and is nearly the size of the model. You'd probably need a pretty wild base to draw attention from it. I still like the work on her!
